Any NSW Paramedics on here?

Hey all,

I'm going to be applying for the NSW Paramedics in March and was wondering if anyone on here was one already?

I'm just curious as to what sort of vacancies are likely to be available for posting during training and internship as my wife needs to be within range of Newcastle and/or Ourimbah university if at all possible. Is it easier to get a position somewhere I'd like to be if I state that I DON'T want to work in Sydney? I'm happy to commute anywhere within 2 hours of home (northern Central Coast).

Also, is there anything in particular which will help my chances throughout the application process? I don't have any prior qualifications apart from a First Aid certificate, so I was going to be applying for the vocational training which I'd prefer to do over a Uni degree anyway.
