Shortly i will be selling my car which got me thinking what do people look for when they are buying a second hand car?
what things detract you from buying a second hand car?
what things can seal the deal? and how much do you usually try to talk someone down?
(sorry if this has been done before, the search function never works so great)
Firstly have the car detailed. Then set a realistic price. When you get an enquiry be honest and forthcomming with any known problems. I cant tell you how many times people lie on the phone just to get you to come and look. I once had a seller guarantee that his car was a genuine VB SLE but when I got there it was only an SL. I walked away straight away as he had lied about that , what else will he lie about. Just remember dont waste your time, or a buyers and you should find a genuine buyer reasonably quickly. Good luck with it.
i have answered many of these threads... use the search button.. there was a really detailed one.
^^^ Yep heaps of these threads already. The search function works fine. Look under 'buying secondhand' in the thread titles. Plenty of reading to be had.
