Saturday night I had a mate over. Nothing out of the ordinary, we talked a bit, watched some movies, got on the drink a bit, and ended up going to bed around 1 am. I had 7 cans of Bundy and cola, something I can normally do in my sleep.
Yesterday morning I woke up at around 7:30 am...was pretty tired, but had no hangover or anything...in fact, apart from being extremely tired, I felt pretty good. At around 9:30 - 10 I started having trouble standing up, so I went and sat down. At around 10 I had a seizure..by the time I woke up (I was unconcious for about 4 minutes apparently) the ambo had arrived and the paramedics were checking me out. They said I was ok, but they suggested I get the doctor to check me out as soon as possible.
Thing is, this happened once a few months back, at the time I thought it might have been a once-off, since nothing like this had ever happened to me before, and normally I have no trouble holding my grog, I've had a few booze-ups since then without any dramas, but now that this has happened again I'm taking it a lot more seriously. Anyway just wondering if anyone else here has experienced something similar.
Cant say i have mate but i would get that sorted out quick smart
Cause the last thing you want is for it to happen while driving or something like that.
Honestly go get urself checked out by the doc.
Ive had a few seizures mid last year, but that was due to a head injury i received, it still shook the shit outta me even though i was well aware they might happen
Ive had a seizure but that was due to medication I was on, one of those 1/100 side effects . hope you get to the bottom of it soon!

Yeah, I'm going to get myself checked out by the doc first chance I get, the first time I thought it was just a freak occurrence, especially since it didn't happen again for months, but now its happened again its a different story. I'm just curious as to whether anyone else here has had this happen after a big night on the drink.
diabetis will do that.something to do with the alcohol stripping all your sugar or something. best go get the prick to find out cos' that can lead to a stroke if untreated.
ive had a few b4 once i went to the pub and had half a beer and ended up on the floor of the pub. i also thought it might of been a freak thing but i felt like shit for the next 2 weeks until i had another one in the middle of the day wen i was having a cup of coffee and this one was a bit more serious i wasnt breathing for 3 minutes and went all stiff then wen i woke up i threw up everywhere then couldnt help but sleep for the next 2 days.i booked in to see a neuroligst and cardiologist the after 3 months and $6500 later the best answer i could get was dont drink ,dont drink caffine and do take recreational drugs(which i didnt anyway) ever since which has been 5years i have drank, takin drugs, drank any form of caffine and all ive had is constant day to day heart pulpatations and a boring non alcohol drinking life.it might be worth getting it checked out but just dont be dissapointed if they tell u nothings wrong and to stop drinking.hope this helps
Oh no, looks like I've been doing it all wrong - I drink grog and caffiene, but I don't do recreational drugs...looks like thats my problem right there.![]()
you were lucky they didnt refer you to have your license stripped..
a mate had 1 seziure in his life at work.. and they took his license away till he was proven normal.. took 6 months and nothing was ever found wrong.. this was 3 years ago and he still has not had another.
Yeah, though I don't think the ambos can do that can they, only a doc can, right? Anyway I'm going to see if I can see the Doc next week, and one thing I am worried about is that he might recommend that my license be cancelled.
They won't unless they have reason to suspect that it's related to anything other than excessive consumption of alcohol/drug-alco mix etc. People have seizures for many reasons, most of which can be controlled by avoiding a certain substance etc. Even epileptics can hold a licence if they go 4 years without a seizure, I think it is.
You can keep your lcense if you can prove that the seizures are undercontroll.
Alcohol can cause epilepsy just ask my brother. A night out on the town drunk fuel violence and a king hit to back of the head ruined his life he has about 3-4 seizures a week on average sometimes he can have that many in a day. Cant get a job cant have a drivers license all the ambos know him by name he's had 56 call outs. mainly when he's just going to the shop to get some milk or something.
There's nothing worse then scum who go out to start fights

Could be related. When i was younger i had partial complex seizures and absent seizures but luckily grew out of it. My current room mate has epilepsy and can't drink a lot, though this is somewhat due to the medication also. Best to be checked out mate and have all the tests dont weather you think you need them or not, better to be safe than sorry with this kind of stuff.
Best of luck!
