Andy Irons tragically passed away today, one of the worlds greatest ever known surfers.
Andy suffered Dengue Fever and was placed into intensive care, where he soon left, but was found in his apartment later today.

good bloke
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
He was a surfing legend and will be greatly missed by all his fans. Unfortunately his wife is due to have their first baby in a month, cant imagine the pain she would be going through losing her husband.

Then I have to wonder whether or not he was given the all clear. If so, someone will be shot. If not...
He wanted to leave to go and treatment back home. The hospital probably made him sign a form saying that he was discharging himself against doctors advice and they were not responsible should anything happen. This wasnt the first time he had had dengue fever either, he had it a few years back and apparently 3 other surfers have come it as well. It's a sad day and surfing has lost one of its greatest legends.
He might be a good guy but he died because he was stupid

That's how the story goes. I think there's something far more nefarious under the surface of this story. The past two years he has been nowhere, had no form and hasn't been competing. After re-entering the WCT for this season he finally got some form together at 'chopes for his first win before this sudden and unfortunate event.
There's no real reasoning or story behind his dramatic loss of form only the whimsy PR stories we get fed.
So how does a super-elite athlete suddenly become this ill? If he was that ill why was he left alone in a hotel room overnight?
I think there is more to this than it seems. This however is not an attack on AI. He was a true waterman.
