I don't know about other peoples thoughts but I find this whole idea totally distasteful and have no desire to see this thing what so ever.

Reaper
I probably will never see it for real - but I'm OK with it being part of history.
It is a great looking car

and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
i'd have to agree with 88GreenVN, it's a part of australian motoring history, but that doesnt mean it had to be rebuilt so they could sell (or auction it off)
i mean what if whoever gets it and goes racing in it and suffers the same fate (highly doubt it will ever happen but) then there'll most likely be a mass drama like they made over the james dean death car (again a beautiful car, for those that dont know about that one: the cars that a few of the parts went into had bad accidents aswell) anyway back on topic wasnt the daytona a kitcar anyway? so if they did rebuild brocks car for memorabillia couldnt they have just made a replica of that and left it at that?
yeh I dont know, this was talked about a few years ago when the idea had come up.
I highly doubt it'll be "sold off" or raced again. Peter Champion was one of Brocks mates, which is why he has so many of the original cars there.
I still dont know how I feel about the idea, its a part of history yes but I dont know, to rebuild it back "like nothing happened
I don't see a problem, it's not as if they hosed the wreck out and put it on display still smashed.
the car wasn't rebuilt to be sold off.
Peter Champion had it rebuilt to put on display in honour of the memory of Peter Brock.
Peter Champion doesn't sell off his cars, every car in his display is there to share with other Brock fans. You have to talk to the guy to understand how much respect he & Brocky had for each other. I was talking to Peter Champion last year when I visited the museum, he was telling us that back then of his intentions of putting the car on display. He had run it past the Brock family (which he is still very good friends with) before he decided to go with the idea, and they fully supported what he planned to do.
Whilst Brock's death was a tragedy, he died doing something he loved, I mean when your numbers up, surely most people would prefer to go out doing something they love. I don't think Brocky would have had any regrets. The display of the final car he raced is really a celebration of the legend that Brock was. I don't see it as distasteful at all, and believe it's an important addition to the display.
i dont have a problem with it, Brock and champion were great mates and champion would not do anything to disrespect him,
hey where is that Museum ? wouldn't mind having a visit, be motivating for a Holden fan...
