As most people know national bank has been having some troubles lately and i didnt get my work pay until a couple days after i normally get it but that didnt bother me too much, however when checking my bank transactions online i noticed on friday i spent some money and 2 lots of that amount has come out and the same thing happened with my mums account, she bought some stuff on friday and the amount came out twice.
So if your with National it would be a good idea to check your transaction history just incase something similar has happened to you, i will be seeing them on monday to see whats going on.
I'm with Commonwealth Bank, but 3 years ago when I was in Sydney on a holiday I used an NAB ATM to make a withdrawal for $220. I got the money without any drama, but after that I noticed something was a bit funny about my bank balance...I didn't really think much about it until after I got home when I realised that the ATM had recorded the transaction twice. I went into the bank straight away and they sorted it out, and I had my money back a lot quicker than they said I would. My advice would be to visit your local branch straight away and tell them whats going on, make sure you have all your paperwork with you too so that you have something to go on.
Yeah we had the same thing happen everything has come out twice. We phoned them up today ( they are open on phone lines all weekend due to amount of problems) and they said it will re-adjust itself when they fix the problems. I can only hope so, as i cant even use my NAB account right now because it says that i actually owe my whole balance. i.e my account is in the minus "x" amount, rather than it being the available balance.
Not very happy as we have lots of direct debit set up, and we always pay our bills weekly out of the NAB account.
i had multiple duplicate transactions go through - my account was 10k overdrawn. i transferred money between accounts so no biggie, but it really shows fragile the banking system can be

I transferred money that couldn't be touched from everyday account to savings 3 days ago. Checked it this morning. It's back in my usual account while my savings account is in debit.

lol, my account has lost thousands. They'll work it out and it'll adjust, i wouldn't be too concerned about it.
Yeah I swear if that money gets touched I am going to flip.
