drinking laws upto 21

Hi just thinking about what they have been saying about upping the legal drinking age to 21. ive just turned so i really dont care just want some opinions.. my opinion really is they need to crack down on the laws they have in place to start with.. half the problem isnt the people that are actually legal its the 15-16 y/o idiots getting blind and causing fights.. upping the age will do nothing if you ask me.

Hard to say really if its any good or not. either way the law goes, under-aged people will still drink
So, my view on it.. Is leave it as is.. lol.. Government still get there money plus the added fines for underage drinking, so they still win

Changing the limit won't make any difference to under-age drinking, if anything it will increase it because theres a larger amount of people who want to drink. And I think that a drunk 18yo at a club will cause more of a problem that a 16yo in their backyard, an 18yo who thinks hes king shit is gonna get way more cocky when hes drunk with mates and try start shit with randoms in a public place. Thats my general opinion.

Yep agree'd, changing laws won't do anything, only waste money on passing the laws, and advertising them etc...

2. Up the legal age to 60 for all i care i mean why the #### not its not gonna change anything.

wont happen at all, to many clubs,pubs , bottlos etc will loose revenue if people 18,19,20 arn't aloud to drink

I believe if will have some affect..be it very minor.
Most will still find a way to get the stuff anyway.
I see and have to deal with a lot of boozed up people in this age bracket.
The simple fact they wont be serving them booze at my work will definatly make a difference !!!

Upping the age will never happen. Nor will it make any difference

The decision will be dictated by the revenue that will be potentially lost if this law was to be enacted, ie, they won't do it.

Kids that age will get messy one way or the other. If they make booze harder to get for them how many will start using the equally hard to get harder drugs?

On the other hand, I've always said that it's stupid how you turn 18 and all of a sudden want to drive everywhere coz you just got your P's (Vic), and at the same time want to get smashed all the time

lol i cant say much as i was one of them started drinking when i was 16 im now 20 and havnt had a drink for months really just isnt very entertaining to drink for me id rather go for a drive.

but i definitely agree with philthy as it gets harder to get drinks they will go for other harder drugs that are much easier to get.

that makes 2 of us. i cant stand how people my age have to get smashed to have a good night! whatever happened to going out to catch up with your mates instead of getting blind drunk and waking up the next morning in bed with some tramp?

same situation with alcopops, to deter kids, so what did they do? buy straight, and ended up in hospital quicker.
