this show looks interesting. thanks csp
Meh not interesting enough :P
Easier just to talk to my mate who was in the SAS and ended up as a major before he retired from the armed services.
Its kinda scary seeing these boys running around perth at times.

LOL, some of them are a little... Unhinged.
Wow.... I wouldn't even be able to do 1% of what those blokes go through. Bookmarked to record for next episode!
I wonder if anyone's ever popped a viagra before the strip down?Would turn the psychological effect around a bit... hehehe
Thats a good show watched a couple of eps the other night.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Certainly has softened a little in the past few years...

decided to watch it. and all i can say is wow.
they must definately be full of bravery and courage.
and that strip down would tear them down to size (lets hope it wasnt too cold for them), very psychological.
looks tough. and not just tough, insanely crazy type of tough.
do they only get 1 chance to try to get into the S.A.S, or is that only if they pull themselves out?
cant wait for next weeks episode.

ok, thanks for clearing that up.
and i cant believe that is only pre-selection. that is brutal

those are some big numbers to cut. those 5 or so must be absolute legends.
they obviously learn some great survival skills.
im still curious to see what other tests they have to do in this selection, as its very interesting.
I have noticed many tests are not shown or are simply not done anymore. Obviously the cadre has changed since my time and I cannot keep up with the training aspect anymore as my contact in the regiment was KIA a few years back. RIP Mat.

It is a cadre selection course. Nothing in it would really be classified information. In fact you can purchase a how to train for the cadre book from bookstores that gives the basic run down of the course. My guess is for not showing is the uproar you would get from the do gooders.

well they didnt show the names of anyone, and they didnt show the faces, as that is definately classified information, and is good they didnt show them.
would the books show exactly everything? or is it sort of a modified version for people who want to do "boot camp" training?
they probably dont show all things, as some of the people would whinge saying thats unhumane to torture people in such ways, to get through the selection stage.
which is fair enough as it is a documentary of the process, not an indepth guide of whats going on.
I have to admit that the guy they showed talking to the other bloke about forming a plan to take out an enemy target really buggered it up. Hell, the first thing I would have done was asked what they knew about the target and what resources they had at their disposal to use.
He had no idea! If all else fails and you can't think of anything, at least revert to basic training SMEAC.
He was like "ok, we're gonna take it out" ... I lol'd
That 20 clicker was insane! I did a 9 clicker with 5kg less and was struggling at the end.
Easy to say that while not on course. Some of the stupid answers you give during the course you could shoot yourself for. One thing that doesnt show in this show is the mental anguish your brain faces after just 48 hours and the slow break down of lateral thinking. That said, any soldier who has served in combat should be able to answer pretty well.
