As long as there's a movie sequel: Love the Beast, Even More!
Jeremy Clarkson: "Are you mad!?"
Not any more by the looks of that rear end... Not a leaf to be seen. That's a seriously awesome looking, custom rear end...

that car is awesome. wonder if there will be another movie around him and his car.
he shows what a car enthusiest is to the rest of the world.
I loved the doco on the car, I can't believe that it is back on the road!

yeah good for him, that movie was inspiring even if i dont agree with his taste in cars, the circle of friends all involved at some level is what its all about. shame he probably had nothing to do with the repair, but still... very good.
Good to see it rebuilt. Certainly would have been a big $ rebuild, that's for sure.
Although, i have to disagree with this...
While I agree that Holden had a much better shape car of that era in the H series Holdens, the XA-B coupe is probably one of if not THE best shape Ford has ever made IMO.
That car is awesome, great to see it rebuilt again.
I love the XA-B shape, but yeah the HQ looks much better.

Good, now he can make another movie.

I think for someone who has put the effort in , in the past, it would be highly unlikely that they would just sit back this time around and watch someone else do all the work for them, on a car that supposedly means so much to him....
I'd be interested to find out if it was the case, i've done a bit of searching on it, but nothing returned so far.....
Given that he would have a lot more money these days and the limited spare time he would have in between making movies, i dare say he wouldn't have put a spanner to it. While i would love to be proven wrong and hear that he did some work on it, i doubt it would be the case unfortunately...
It takes a hell of a lot of time and effort to rebuild/restore a car from scratch, let alone re-building a car that was hit that hard. I just don't think Eric would have the time to put into it.
I remember Jay Leno's comment saying if you had put all the blood sweat and tears into this car then you wouldn't have crashed it..
Does that mean he didn't have anything to do with the build before the Targa event? I never really followed it much, there's not much google info out there just links to the same stuff...
As far as i know, he had very little to nothing to do with the last build.
While he has good reason to be, i believe Eric is simply a chequebook racer nowadays. Having said that, if i had his money and little to no spare time, I'd probably be a chequebook racer too![]()
Yup, give me infinity dollars and I'd pay for most shit too.
Lets face it, the only reason we do stuff ourselves is because its cheap.
Na, i have to dis-agree with that Soop. I enjoy doing things myself, i think even if i had a lot more money I'd still do it myself as you get a lot of satisfaction out of doing things yourself.
What i posted in my last post was a little bit tounge in cheek, i probably still wouldn't be a chequebook racer regardless of finances, providing i have the time to do it.
DIY FTW.
Yeah okay, fair call.
But frankly, I'd pay some poor bastard to do the shit jobs.![]()
