Why the hell are people doing this 40 in a 60 ????

50 in an 80?????

i'm struggling to cope with this, i was driving down nepean hwy the traffic was light all the lanes (4 of them) taken up by people doing around 50 and there was no way i could get through to sit on the limit

These same people are the ones too frightened to drive on four lane divided roads at 130km which is what the limit should be as it is in many overseas countries and Europe (and yes i know our roads can't be compared to the autobahn - i'm only talking here about 4/6 lane divided freeways).

And despite all their crap about "speed kills" etc, state governments hate slow drivers too because of the $$ (or lack of). Slow drivers = no revenue.

Driver safety training should be mandatory for all learner drivers, half paid for by them and half by the govt. Retest ALL (new and old) drivers every 5 years. Then increase to reasonable speed limits such as 130 mentioned above.

Also, abolish 40km school zones on 80km and above roads only, but not in residential areas (it's ludicrous that if you make an honest mistake and miss a school zone on a 80km or 100km road you will lose your licence). If it's so dangerous put in fences, an overpass, or move the bloody school! And make all school zone signs the "illuminated" kind (not hidden behind trees next to fixed speed cameras as they love doing).

your not the only one that gets the shits with this , ive even copped a smartarse who was doing 80 in a 110 zone and as soon as i got close he hit the brakes as hard as he could, he did this about 4 times then wouldnt let me pass i had to do some ridiculous speed to get away from this idiot ive come across this same tool on the western hwy twice and hes done the same thing twice, he was in the fast lane too .

travelling home from work today. people sit in the middle of like a 3 lane freeway, doing under the speed limit. when they can quite clearly move over 1 lane and free it up for everyone.
same with trucks. along the stretch of road of no trucks in the right hand lane, they sit in the middle lane, and cant overtake because of idiots sitting in the middle lane. gotta feel sorry for these guys.

oh and this morning. at like 6am. no one else on the road. see this person coming up behind me.
thought yeah, just gonna overtake. which they did. and as soon as they overtake they zoom back over. and turn off to go to wherver that went to.
i counted. it saved them 2-3 seconds. whent hey could have sat behind me for like 200m's max.

What's wrong with culling morons?

There is things we can do about it. But it requires us to have some form of establishment to represent Automotive enthusiasts, whom can form object scientific opinions back up with statistical proof to present to the media and govt organisations stating that people driving too slowly is just as dangerous as people driving to fast.

Biggest issue with motoring in Australia is the fight is one sided. So there's never going to be a logical middle ground reached until the other side picks its game up.

I don't care much about people who rive along at 20kmph under the limit in the left lane. They are idiots, but as it has been said, short of culling stupid people there is not much that can be done about it.

What drives me up and down the wall is those same retard sitting in the RIGHT lane and driving under the speed limit. And then the surprised and angry looks I get when I turn of highbeams and honk at them till the move out of my way suggests they simply have no idea about the "Keep left unless overtaking" road rule.

I think a lot of people like that actually enjoy p--sing people off. Like the drivers who drive slow until the double unbroken lines end then they speed up just to stop you going past. Nothing we can do (legally, anyway).

I see all this alot being a delivery driver. People can't stand being overtaken by a van or small truck so they speed up when I overtake them. And the ones when your in a lane that's ending and they have to get in front you for some reason even though there is a slower car in front of me that they will be stuck behind... So I sit right on there ass :-)

But in qld that is anything over 70km/h. So in a 70 zone or slower you don't need to stay left.
