Not the best to post an infringement number on a public forum? Almost bragging that they let you (or some one you know) off?
But, I didn't think you would be so irresponsible or careless enough to speed through a stationary speed camera in the first place?
EDIT: Bahahaa, thats better!![]()

Not bragging. Just happy.
Yeah. Mate, they hide them in Vic!
Spot the stationary speed camera...

See it yet?
Remember - you'd be looking down the road while driving...
Revenue camera's.
On the sign post I think they are.
I'm not stupid. They were just hidden cameras... Tell me that's not revenue raising!

Sneaky ####ers
I was going to say in the corner of the sign frame, in the first pic, but after seeing them, LOL
To summarise what I based my letter on, I said I'd driven for 7 hours on a 2 lane road at 110km/hr, stopped for fuel and coffee at the Mobil on the Ring Rd and when I was merging back onto it, I was focussed entirely on safely merging, the traffic around me and not looking at my speedo. Once I safely merged I reset my cruise and was driving safely and within the conditions of the road and traffic around me. At the very next speed sign I would have adjusted my speed accordingly. I was merging onto a 3 lane highway with a 100km/hr zone after being on cruise control all day on worse roads at higher legal speeds - seriously, WTF Victoria???
They asked for my driving history, I went and got it and sent it to them.
Job done.

Hypocrite. Every time someone else gets caught, you sound off about "do the crime, pay the fine".
Thats why I love NSW, if you get caught speeding there you must be illiterate. Speed Camera 500 METERS!!! Speed Camera 100 meters!!! CAMERA AHEAD!! *big ####ing grey box sticking out of the road*
english speed cameras:
accompanied by a series of lines on the road to let you know the cameras detection range:
placed in areas where excessive speed is common and police officers cant patrol. a great idea for reducing speed (imo) and if someone is stupid enough to go fast through it, the bonus of a bit of revenue to the council. but still the poms cry poor and a lot of these have been removed.
do the crime...
I didn't commit a crime. And would never say "do the crime, pay the fine" about speeding. I do say that you should never whinge or complain about getting a speeding fine as you're in control of the vehicle and should know the speed limit.
In this case, I made a mistake. I admit that. But at the same time, watching my speedo at the time would have been far less safe that focussing on merging safely and what the other traffic was doing. Not only that but why a 3 lane highway is only 100km/hr in Victoria when a 2 lane highway is 110km/hr is beyond me!
So I didn't complain or whinge about it. I admitted I wasn't doing 100km/hr but for valid reasons. I wrote a letter, and got it changed to a warning
That is not hypocritical, it's standing by your beliefs.
My attitude is still, SPEED = SPEEDING FINE. DEAL WITH IT!
Also last year, I drove from a 110km/hr zone into a 100km/hr zone and forgot to change my cruise setting as I was on a phone call (yes, hands free). Not an excuse, just a reason. 500m - 1km into the 100km/hr zone a cop car came over a crest towards me. I immediately looked down and realised I was speeding, waved at him and pulled over straight away. He gave me the lowest possible fine he could ($90 and 1 point) because I pulled over, admitted what I did and why and he was happy with that. Told me everyone makes mistakes. I paid it online as soon as I got hom.
Exactly! Victoria are just sneaky buggers. Shouldn't have had my nav muted - speed camera alerts are handy.
hotlink broken mate
Yup... Nothing wrong with that either. Pissy little $90 and the 1 point doesn't even transfer across to the ACT.
So going by the pics that was the direction you were traveling at the time you were caught?
Are we there yet?
i thought is was law to have speed cameras visible?

it doesn't really seem like you dealt with the speeding fine, except by writing a letter to weasel out of it.
