Recently my mate tryed passing someone he knows in his VX S with about 150ks on the clock and the car he tried passing was an EL Wagon with 210k on it and anyway, being p platers the wagon punched it as well and the VX could not gain any ground at all, infact it got left by a few car lengths. It's been burning him up and his pride has taken as massive hit ( i find it funny as hell). But can anyone guess as how that even happened? 4 years between the two cars aswell....
thought this was going to be something interesting.
but it's just going to turn into another holden vs ford shitfight
Good point. Sorry to mislead. Not trying to start any arguments.
Easy the VX is a POS.
guess its either a case of a) your mate can't drive and was in the wrong gear, or b) your mates engine needs a tune up, or c) the ford has more torque and just wiped his ass ?
Don't S packs have higher gearing thus making them slower accelerating ? Like SV6's have taller diffs.
No their just crap.
Thats the kind of replys i wanted.
Just had a quick look around and found this:
EL Falcon-157kW @ 4900rpm - 357Nm @ 3000-3000rpm
VX Commodore-152kW @ 5200rpm - 305Nm @ 3600-3600rpm
Might have something to do with it.
^^ Sad isn't it ?!
Yes. I should have googled it first to save any arguments on here. Oh well.
check the weight values of the cars . then using the weight to power ratio
Have no idea how to convert it..Would of though an extra 60,000k's would have seen the Falc lose its power advantage but apparantly not..
my rule has generally been falcons for 6's commodores for 8's
weight of vechical divided by power in either hp or kw . it will give you power per kg
4.0 ford motors are particulary powerful mid range the ecotec v6 is somewhat crap mid range, however start off the line and bye bye falcon the vx will jump away and continue to lead, embarising for your mate though lol.
never pick a fight unless you know ya going to win
It's not so much that the Falcon won but more that you lost by more. V6 VX were quite slow.
Reaper
I have an EL Fairmont as a run around and it has quite a bit of poke.
Are we there yet?
