Its funny. When I was in school same shit happened to me. Teachers would tell you to ignore it etc and do squat. You turn around and just thump them and all of a sudden teachers do something to help the bully. Good on him.

As my teachers said in school, the same thing dont react, But speaking to the teaches they obviously cant say fight back, its what they are told to do, nothing they can do.

My son got bullied at school and dispite the teachers knowing that it was happening done f*ck all to stop it. In the end my wife grabbed the little prick by the throat and told him that she was going to kick the SH1T outa him then smashed his head into the door . Problem solved.

We home school our kids. Problem solved.
First one got dumped in the lowest grade classes when he changed school and was learning nothing and actually being prevented from learning. He hated it as he has always wanted to do Computer Science degree. A Paediatrician helped us pull him out and he's flourishing and well on his way to what he wants.

Our youngest son was bullied, thrown in bins, down stairs, stuff destroyed, even girls joined in once by telling him that that a teacher wanted to see him in such and such place and he was ambushed when he turned up. The wife and I were in the headmasters office quite often. He would get suspended for doing anything to them in return and on the last occasion the headmaster, after a dressing down from me, asked "what do you want me to do?" I said sign the papers so he can do distance education.

Oh the phone to deputy head.
Me: So if someone attacks him he can't defend himself?
Her: No, he should report it to a teacher and then make an incident report at the office.
Me: If there was a teacher there it wouldn't have happened.
Her: We can't be everywhere.
Me: Then he needs to be able to defend himself as you can't always be there.

Round and round it went. I finally asked her if she was walking down the road and someone attacked her if she'd defend herself? She said no! At that point I just told her I can't talk to an idiot like you and hung up.

Yeah don't get me started on the dont bully tactics they're feeding the kids these days. Someone pinched my boomerang I got from a Wheaties/Wheatbix box in grade 1 or 2 that I only just won over from my brother and sister that very morning for getting up first and opening the new box. I wasn't going to give it up easily. That was the last time I got bullied at school as kids tended to move to the same schools as they went through school.

And while I dont agree with home schooling either (theres more to school the academics, socail skills for one) VRSS is exactly right.
The education system is screwed up in more ways then one these days, and dicipline is one area it fails hard in.

My kids have great social skills.. Guess where they got them from? Adults. Leaving kids to "age groups" and "peers" is total crap. Kids need adult guidance. They have their age peer friends but don't need to be amongst them all day long when they are trying to learn. Adults make better peers for teenagers than other teenagers.

I guess that comes down to the parents ALLOT. Perhaps its just usually weirdo parents that choose to home school, more then the schooling process that creates them. You do learn allot about yourself and life in a proper schooling environment. Even if you don't learn jack shit from the teachers.

Seriously, how do we have "teachers" who go to school, go to uni and then go back to school?
They have 0% life expirience and yet we're some how supposed to expect them to teach our children?

This has been one very hot topic of late with varied results..personally having the boy suspended sends the complete wrong issue to other kids now.Nowing that THEY as the victim will be punished for having the balls to stand up for themselves to the likes of bullies is just ludacris.All it does is sent the victim deeper inside themselves and will allow the violence to continue because they wont stand up for fear of retribution.No wonder there is such an alarming rate of child suicide out there today and the actions of the school wouldnt of helped...id say casey already had a very low self esteem of himself but who can blame him for not only taking the humiliation of these bullies but finally having the courage to fight back...Bullying is an ever increasing issue that no matter what policies u have in place will always go on from one gemeration to the next,As human beings we can only take so much and for casey the lad pushed those limits and reaped the whirlwind from such actions...a big +1 on his part.
