For the record, I didn't tell you that, I posted a simple question on this forum board hoping for a straight answer but instead received replies from childish morons insisting their information was helpful.
As far as I'm concerned it did fall out, unless one of my mate's did something to the car while I wasn't watching, but that story is for another day...
The pedal went to the floor because the brake pads had no meat on them, comprende? Or is your shiny post count getting to your head?
So you're saying it's impossible for a brake caliper piston to pop out?
Your certainty on this amazes me.
Then one of your mates did something like put their fat foot on the brake while the calipers were off the disk. Pistons will not fall out of calipers by themselves and at times it's a monumentally crap job trying to get them out fullstop. The pedal does not go to the floor because the pads have no meat on them, the metal becomes the "meat", I hate to say it but.. Comprende? I don't have a high post count so what's my excuse?
As someone that was a motor mech for many years, yes, it's impossible for them to just fall out if they were working calipers.
And the beat goes on...
So be it, I had no part in the piston falling out, correct the metal was the only thing slowing down the car and ####ed one of the rotors in the process, I would never let this happen to my car, I check my brakes regularly and my car is mechanically A1 most of the time.
I wasn't having a go at you mate, some people on this forum don't know when to stop and end up making a big deal out of nothing.
one of my mates had that happen too! all he was doing was sitting with his foot on the brake, about 5500rpm... a lot of smoke from the rear tyre then the conrod "fell out"
to this day we cant figure out what happened.
I knew this one guy that sat on a forum board for so long, that he didn't have real life friends and all he did was smash his keyboard with his forehead every time he tried to prove someone wrong, his brain fell out.
/lolfunny
i knew this bloke who kept replying to people who sat on a forum bored for so long, that they didn't have real life friends and all they did was smash their keyboard with their forehead every time they tried to prove someone wrong, they're brains fell outI knew this one guy that sat on a forum board for so long, that he didn't have real life friends and all he did was smash his keyboard with his forehead every time he tried to prove someone wrong, his brain fell out.
question: is why is he on the forum if he has real life friends??
answer: his brains already fallen out just like his caliper piston
back on topic, a mates girlfriend a while ago was convinced that the sub-woofer in her v6 magna engine needed replacing because her engine was vibrating too much. we had a good giggle over that one
VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)
heres one for you guys, ive recently fitted stage 2 cam to my v6 ecotec, 1st i know its a 6 im apprentice mechanic and did it for exp nt to try and turn into v8
anyway couldnt get the idle right so i rang a so called performance shop here in perth and the bloke told me i needed to adjust my elec distributer at the back of my motor so i said ohhh really and where is that again he replied its at the back of ur motor just behind ur intake manifold, just twist it 10 degrees to the right an you will notice a difference if not right twist alittle more i simply said ok ill try it it and just hung up laughing
The bloke probably got off the phone and had a laugh with his mates that someone believed him when he said a v6 has a dizzy![]()
i suppopse i thought id just play along and see where it went
1. A parent suggested a mis-matched paint job could be buffed out
2. Same parent suggested that really bad panel fit on a corolla (i.e. should be very good) is just the car 'settling'
3. Young bogan hoon types who gawk at the VB and ask "so does it go good?" (It is stock, 71kw in a 1220kg body; how do YOU think it bloody goes??)
4. RTA/RMS who say that a P-Plaer is more likely to speed in a 1978/87kw VB Commodore 4.2 than a 2010 195kw commodore V6......
5. Countless eBay vendors who sell a part saying 'will fit xyz model' when I know for a fact it will not.
VB VC VH VK VL Brock Ashtray's are the best one... they're the same part for all models from povo pack right thru... but some still list it as "Genuine Brock and special"
Recently on ebay Red interior trim (arm rests etc) listed as Cerulean...... must be colourblind that seller.
I cop heaps of hoons trying to drag off my VB, bog stock red 6 and truamatic (ok with a 3.45 VLT diff in it) But funny enough nobody pesters me in the VH SS.
Back in my day at the wrecking yard:
One day an asian lady comes in asking for an "octopus" (turned out she needed a dizzy cap)
Another time i was asked for a "Turn Slowly" (radiator cap)
Last year the F.I.L (owner of Nth Lismore Motors) was annoyed at me for bidding on a EB falcon in everglade for $300 at gamers auctions when none of the other dealers wanted it after hearing the engine stumbling and farting and carrying on.
Everyone was calling me an idiot for bidding on it saying the motor's rooted from the sound of it.... funny i was the only person to notice one of the spark leads was broken and arcing onto the rocker cover.... still the egg was on their face when i chucked a new lead in it, and promtly sold it 2 weeks later for $2500 with 3 mths rego.
