It's in the cab to the bottom-right of the steering wheel
the only placei can see where it would be is directly below the headlight toggle and to the right the fuse panel if that makes sense?
i can see where there would be a release which leads me to believe it is broken.

turmoil117 is right - thats exactly where it should be...its a black handle with a white silhouette of a car with a bonnet up. If you can't see anything like that then its broken/missing.
ok that bit is definitly missing, on closer inspection theres a bracket where it mounts with the cable outter piece attached it would seem the inner pice has broken off with the handle leaving me with nothing to pull on.
any thoughts on how i might open the bonnet?

unscrew the grill and pull directly on the latch
ok i tried that, i could seem to get it to move still, the whole cable pulls through the firewall :S
any chance of getting at the latch from under the car?

Big flathead screwdriver from in between the bumper bar and lower valance (there is a gap) push the spring on the bonnet catch, you will need to get above the catch in between the bonnet and the catch (kinda hard to explain). It's quiet easy, i did it a few times when i have no bonnet release in my WB when i was building it.
thanks man, ill give that a try.

ok crisis averted, i was trying the suggestion above and decided to have a look underneath, looks like someones cut the cable off just after the latch so i got the vice grips on it and it opened.
so now the fun begins.
thanks for all the help guys

When you fit the new cable, make sure you give it a thin film of grease along its entire length. A bit of grease on the bonnet striker pin and in the latch wouldn't go amiss either. These things are usually neglected.
