Haha! Nope Anywhere that's daylight at 5am is just backwards! It's why DST was setup. To make better use of the daylight at the END of the day, after work.

This happened last year after the shift from daylight savings.
Probably just a network stuff up, it shouldnt be the iphone.

My Iphone 4 and my wifes Iphone 3gs both updated fine, and no changes to alarms etc, oh both are with optus.
but previously Being with Telstra, but not with Iphone I had nothing but trouble with the auto update the mobiles I had on telstra never updated correctly mine and my wifes phone both were motorola V3 always updated around a week early for some reason but never on the same day, for example mine would update 4 days before daylight savings and my wifes would update 2 days before daylight savings. and same thing happened when we changed to the V3xx all were on telstra, I also try disabling the auto update, but it still tried changing the time early.
when we first changed to optus we both got the Nokia E72 they both updated fine. and now the Iphone's both worked fine.
