Honestly mate, we have 8 or so of these utes in our fleet (hilux workmates) and they drink the fuel something terrible. We have one 2wd rodeo 2.8ltr diesel and it's way better and pulls hard.
Not saying the others aren't any good, it's just their fuel consumption is shocking.

Holy crap. My little Bravo B2600 delivers around 3-4 tonne weekly and gets 460-470 per every tank. Hilux must suck some fuel. Are they really that bad?

Like everything, it depends how they're driven. Some of the guys get around the 400, but some don't. The rodeo is consistent with it's economy regardless.

Yeah good point. I have to drive really carefull because I carry highly flammable / corrosive agents so yeah that would account for something. I also run 60psi in my tyres too which would help.

yeah the hiluxes, even the diesels use a bit of fuel. but i agree with the rodeo comment, they always use the same amount of fuel. no matter how you drive the thing or how much its loaded up.

mm would choose a rodeo over hilux but thats me.
