    It's all down to how the original string is interpreted. I'm just going to put this out there and suggest that from the original statement, there is ambiguity. I.e. it's open to interpretation. And that for a definitive mathematical answer, you simply need to remove the ambiguity. Write it so there is no way it can be interpreted in more than one way.

    Theres different ways to interpret logic now?

    When I went to school, we were taught maths is all logic, but yet your "interpreting" it different.

    1(+1) = 1
