    You know what I missed?

The ending not being ruined by the incompetence of CH 7.

Commercial break just before the race starts. News update tells us the winner. Cheers.

hmm, i thought they changed the fuel tank design so this would never happen again after it happened in around 2002 at winton??

no idea if the year or track is correct, i hardly remember it but the same thing happened.

Fire marshal @ 0:15 really doesn't seem like he's in a hurry to put the fire out or help the driver.

But very intense crash and luck everyone got out in good shape.

It would appear not. COTF should fix it as the tank will be in front of the rear axle.

That would be the Barbagallo fire crew... Never in a hurry. Just watch the state racing up there, quickest they move is when lunch is ready.

COTF? LOL!!! Aussie Taxi racing now copying terminology from NASCAR? What? They got sick of copying Formula 1? Hahahaha...

Reindler should have his CAMS licence suspended until he learns how to get out of a car properly too. Took him WAY too long.

So you reckon you could have gotten out of that car faster than him after it got hit at around 150 klms up the back, got pretty high in the air and then slammed back down to the ground again? If that doesn't knock the stuffings out of you then your superman. I read the impact was around 37g too.

The inside of the car was on fire. You can see him trying to get the door open and it closing back on him. Clearly he was trying to kick it open and not get his hands covered in petrol.

Lets put you in a car and set it on fire and see how long it takes you to get out. Then maybe you can put your critisisms aside.

That was a BIG hit. Unfortunately this sort of thing is hard to avoid due to the fuel cell and the battery being in the boot. The Cell is relatively unprotected in the boot with only the panels to protect it. The best way to stop it would be to move the Fuel Cell inside the cage, this has its own problems obviously.
He did take ages to get out though, Your sposed to be out and away from the car within 5 seconds. Id say he was a bit shell shocked from the hit though.

    Big crash.

I'd say he was actually out of the car in good time, considering the circumstances. CSP would have been out quicker though....

Virtually the same thing happened at Oran Park to Paul Morris quiet a few years ago, ironically he's now Steve Owens team boss.

Good to see both drivers walk away relatively unhurt.

They showed the inside of the cabin and the seat was burnt, the paint on the roof was all burnt away and the gearstick was burnt.

I thought he did well considering the extreme circumstances.

he was interviewed about it, he said he tried to open ther door but it just let the flames in so he closed it and waited for the marshalls to try put it out, but then reconcidered and tried to get the hell out of there, must have been pretty scary

    Yeah, very scary stuff.

He probably was going to wait for the fire marshal but then saw their "unspirited" efforts to get to him and decided he had to save himself.
