Default Emerald and Rockhampton area's for suspension work

I want to have my VX sedan lowered and was considering Pedders but most in here have said ''NO'' so to those who live in the Emerald and Rockhampton area does anyone know of a business who has done this type of work for you and you're extremly happy with there quality of work.

Hey mate i live in Emerald not really anyone in town that i would trust doing it. Pedders in rocky are pretty good.
Have you thought about doing the job yourself its a fairly easy job I could lend you a hand if you wanted. i might even have some springs sitting round i would have to look.

Hi Wez, Thanks for the offer but I'm recovering from stomach surgery and this is why I want a suspension centre to do the work and I want it done before I attend the ex Wintersun festival in 4 weeks.
I to have used Pedders before and thought they did a great job and I also want a towing package fitted along with a new rack and rotors.
I'm going to have Emerald Holden or Ultra Tune do some of the work and then maybe Pedders do just the suspension requirements.
    Cheers Fred

Thanks Wes, I've emailed Emerald Car Plus via there sites service request asking for a fixed price to service the auto and replace the rear seal, replace the steering rack, engine tune, replace oil filter and oil , install 4 rotors and pads which I'll supply, install 2 front wheel hubs which I'll supply, I had theses machined to fit the VE 16'' steelies and replace the rocker cover seals. I'll then choose between Ultra Tune, Emerald Holden and Emerald Car Plus and then leave the suspension work up to Pedders.
I also have a quote on all this from a place in Rockhampton so to see if it's really true that the bussiness's in Emerald factor there quotes towards the miners and not the average person. Cheers Fred

peter wheeler (i think thats his name) automotive in the industrial estate near emerald tafe was good to me when i was up there. good work and well priced for a mining town. a few locals i worked with recommended him as well.

i would steer clear of the mob down the road that starts with 'H' haven't heard any good reports about them at all

Thanks for the help guys and I've now booked the mechanical work in at a place in Rocky and Pedders will lower it.
In Emerald I obtained 3 quotes to have 2 front hubs, 4 rotors and pads fitted which I'll supply, 1 power steering rack supplied and fitted, engine serviced and oil changed , auto serviced, rear transmission seal replaced and the tappet cover seals replaced which I was quoted between $2035 and $2450.
Now in Rocky 2 quotes were ontained between $1300 and $1600 which confirms my thoughts about pricing it as if we are all miners.

Update 21.05.11 - I had the suspension lowered to the next stage after standard, all the front end bushes and other associated suspension parts replaced along with a wheel alignment and the air bag towing package fitted along with the new machined front hubs and 4 DBA slotted standard rotors and pads fitted at Pedders for $2,400.
Pedders also pionted out a couple of other small things that needed attention which I've since arranged for the mechanical place in Rocky to also correct on Friday.
