Hey dudes, Quick Easy question which i probably already know the answer too, but just wanna make sure i'm right before i go out doing the wrong thing.
Heres the story.
Ive got a Victorian P2 License, In Victoria P Platers are allowed to go 110 km/h on the highways and whatnot.. But in South Australia to my knowledge P Platers are only allowed to travel a top speed of 100 km/h wither or not the posted speed is 110..
MY question is if im driving in South Australia, am i allowed to travel at 110? .. As my Victorian License says im allowed to drive at 110.. But SA License holders are not?
I have been driving at 100 in SA just to keep on the safe side but im wondering if im allowed to drive at 110?
Thanks dudes!!!
A couple of years ago there was a p plater from the gold coast who crossed over into tweed heads. She had he p plates on the inside of the windows. $80 and 1 point for not displaying it on the outside of the vehicle, like NSW law requires. When she fought it, it got overturned on the basis that the laws she had to drive under were the originals laws in the state which she held her licence in.
could try ringing SA RTA and asking them to clarify the law on that 1
Yeah when I went to NSW a few years back on my P's I got pulled over doing 110 (with Queensland plates on a Victorian license) and they looked at the license and said have a good day.
went into the RTA today and asked them, they had no idea and told me to ring up the SA RTA offices lol.. She said i would most likely have to go by the SA road rules off 100km/h.. But she said if i was to get caught by the SA police going 110, They would see the Victorian P plates and Vic Rego Plates, and 9 times outta 10 they would let me go...
I find it pretty funny really that my RTA office dosent even know lol..
Next test i guess is to ask a SA Cop and say "would you book me if i was going 110?" ..
hence why there should just be a national license and laws
Chev badges are an instant fail
we got pulled over in Sa (my sister and i) doing 110 or whatever the speed limit was
actually it could have been 100 and in nsw p platers have to go 80 or some crap?
anyway they said ur not allowed to do this speed and my sister said but im from victoria i do the victorian laws, bloke says oh 1 minute please walks back to his partner in the car and says my apologies have a good day...
so u do your own states law
if you drive a v8 on your P's in wa and go for a road trip to nsw you are allowed, its all the same thing.
