Incredible Fish Story

Ok, I had a massive "You're ####ing joking me" moment today and thought I would share.

I've got a 80L fish tank @ home.

In the fish tank, I have 3 gold fish (comets), one black moore and 3 triped silver dollars.

They look like this for those of you playing along at home:



Anyway, about last Friday I noticed on of the silver dollars was missing, so I started hunting around for it. I looked outside the fish tank as even though we have a lid a sucker fish jumped out to it's death in the past.

Nah no silver dollar.

Looking around the tank I see it. It's somehow managed to get between the filter wall and the glass wall of the fish tank. A gap about 4mm wide, would have been a squeeze.

Anyway, he's there, motionless and lost his stripes. No movement what so ever

Anyway, I'm a bit upset about the poor little guy but I really can't be buggered getting him out. So I forget about it for a week.

Now today, I notice some algae growing on the front glass and thing to myslef "Oh shit, the dead dollar has probably started decompossing and thus the algae" as usually the tank is crystal clear.

So anyway, the missus is out and I'm home alone, the porn is downloading so I have the opportunity to get him out.

I get behind the tank and for a moment I swear I see his move, just a tiny bit. "Nah, no way" I think, must be the water going into the filter moving him.

Then, again he moves... this time it's no ####ing water.

So crack open the fish tank, remove the filter and the thing is clearly moving.

As at this point I'm thinking 2 things:

1. #### I feel like an absolute #### for assuming he was dead A WEEK AGO and leaving him there ALIVE!

2. He's a resiliant little guy, but no way in hell is he going to survive.

At this point, he's moving a little, on his side, boucing along the bottom really.

So i go off, make some dinner, check on the porn progress and come back 30min later.

And I find the little guy, swimming around almost normal and having a bite to eat!!!

Never have I know such a small fish to survive such a traumatic situation.

Anyway, just had to share as it's utterly unbeleivable to me.

Anyone else have stories of pets that beat the odds to survive?

WOW! little bloke has some fight! most i've had in my fish tanks where fish eating other fish and them jumping out of the tank.

they never cease to amazing me, some breads are very very strong and can survive the almost impossible, found cichlids on my floor, covered in shit from the carpet and they have come good. i figure 10-15mins after that its a struggle...

yours how ever must have been able too get water threw his gills etc, prob would have starved ...

Edit: Or the fish really did die and it's come back as our saviour. How long was it dead? Was it dead three days? Notice the Christian fish symbol! That fish is our savior! Thank god porn kept him alive!

Thats incredible, it took over 30 minutes for your porn to download.

To resolve future issues consider the following:
1. Check your internet connection is up to scratch.
2. Re-consider file size, 3gb porn is no good if you only need two minutes, evaluate get the free trailer it will do the same job.
3. Redtube is your friend, stream that shit with no record when the missus does get home and your "moisturising" at the computer.

Just an update on the FISH.... still alive this morning.

I must say I've farily impressed with the little guy.

I had a cray that managed to climb it self out of my 5 foot tank, how it got out of a sealed tank i have NFI.

Normally this are very active at night, managed to find it on the other side of the house a little dried up but still alive.

Back in the tank she went, took him about 2 weeks to come good again and start feeding.

Ive had fish tanks my whole life, even work in an aquarium when i was younger. Ive mostly had native fish myself and a few tropical set up to. Around 4 years ago i had a set up with two big yabbies, in a big tank with glass coverjng the top with a small gap in the corner for the filter lines etc. After coming back from

In the tank and about an hour later he was fine. Not really sure how long he was out of the water but i was surprised to say the least that he survived

I remember the days of waiting 30 minutes for porn to download, those were the 56k dial-up days.

On the upside, I'm fairly certain all that waiting trained our generation in that era well, we certainty do last longer and don't pre-maturely....arrive. All that and more, without the use of some pansy nasal spray.

Yeah, have a large fishtank with what was a large amount of goldfish. One of them ended up getting some sort of disease and its guts were wide open, like guts several times size of the fish just floating behind it, we thought it wouldnt last a day. Turns out the thing ended up living a good 3 months afterwards, when the other fish got a bit hungry one day.
