Couldn't turn up anything similar with the search so hopefully I didn't fail again.
Just curious I use my ss as my daily driver, doing 4-500k a week at 16ish L/100k.
Do most of you have a smaller car as well or use the 8s as daily drivers with the cost of gas as it is?
I use my SS as a daily, getting about 12.2l/100km doing about 450-500km a week.
I use my vn v8 on gas and get about 350ks a week.. That's going to work, taking and picking up the kids and some times shopping run
the vk gets around 20-22ltrs per 100kms. all city driving. its a bit better on the fwy but not by much, cam, stall converter and diff gears all take their toll.
I get about 400kms to a tank in my SS but a tank of fuel lasts me about a month lol, i prefer to walk/run places.
if i started to drive it regularly though id invest in a daily for sure
sitting on around 20.9/100kms in my ss at the moment but i have a daily![]()
Drive mine daily, get around 400km's to a tank.
I get about 500-550kms a week out of mine. But that is 90% freeway driving.

6.2Litre E3 Senator is my daily. Had it since 25 Feb this year and have just clicked over 16,000km. The trip computer sits on 13.9 L/100 average, nearly all around town + a bit of towing mixed in.
I don't know what your car is but in the last 10 years having many SS's as daily drivers, it's all about driving style in keeping the fuel economy good. I don't remember ever seeing an average that high for normal around town driving (trailers do knock them about quite a bit though).

I sit in alot of traffic and end up with an average speed around 30k hence the high average.
I love driving it to much at the moment but it's costing me a bit
my vs is my daily, i dont do that much driving yet. but according to the lcd screen i average 12.5. Thats with diff gears, stall, cam, cai and leaky exhaust. That is baby footing tho. Ive had it up to as high as 20 lol
I have a 98 Flawd Courier Ute for a daily
but I only really need it on weekends. I usually get a work car to drive to and from home.
If you look at the cost of a car, the main expense is depreciation (the decreasing value of the car over time and the cost to replace it). Petrol is relatively minor unless you are travelling a lot of miles. You have to make a choice do you want travel in a great car (ie. a V8) or travel in a car that has great mileage. I've made my choice and I have three V8s.
Think I get something like 21l or so, that's with 98, full exhaust setup, OTRCAI, tune, etc. But company pays for fuel so I shrug the shoulders and have fun.
all city driving in my CV8. average 14L per 100. dont care, I love it.
I get around 11-12l/100Km all city driving
shy'a sits at 99.9L per 100ks
Drive mine daily getting around 18L/100km (sometimes worse), have to run premium unleaded too as its chipped.
Both my cars are weekend drivers; had the VY SS since since March and average around 14.5L/100km. My other vehicle I've had for 8yrs, is an '88 FRP LandCruiser turbo-diesel, gets about 9L/100km. If I need to do a bit of 'generic' driving I'll take the 'Cruiser, but if the roads offer a bit more fun factor, the SS gets pulled out.
Mine is a daily. Bought it to drive...so i drive it. Getting low 13s per 100kms with a mix of peak and freeway driving.
My 5 litre VP was my daily driver for around 5 years. Got around 21-23 L/100km for the first 4 years, then changed jobs and different driving conditions meant it dropped to 16 L/100km.
Got sick of driving it, so bought a Suzuki GV. Averages around 11 L/100km with lift kit, underbody steel bash plates and BFG AT's.
I didnt buy it to save fuel and cost, I just bought it for a bit of a change.
But people that spend $15-$20k on a small daily to save $50 a week in fuel are just fooling themselves![]()
I looked at getting a Suzuki as a daily/off road hack. They're worth quite a bit though
