Anyway Long story short my old boss was a lowlife ####. He's gone out of business and i havent got a group certificate. He wont reply to phone calls or emails the supposed liquidators dont answer emails either.
I'm worried that im never going to get a group certificate.
So my questions to anyone who knows something about this are:-
In cases of business going into liquidation who would a group certificate come from?
Is there any other way to get a group Certificate like from the ATO or something?
I've had a bit of search around the site and their phone system is useless couldnt find anything.
I spoke to my accountant he said if you can find your last payslip we might be able to use that. ATM im looking for it i had it somewhere but i havent found it yet.
Anyone whos an acountant can confirm that last payslip may be applicable?
Thanks in Advance Pub

if liquidators/administrators have moved in, then contact them personally via telephone or a visit to their office.

I DO NOT ENVY YOUR SITUATION. I'm sorry.

You can request copies from ATO that the employer supplied. Happened to my daughter a few years ago when she lost her originals. I rang the ATO and asked what she should do and they advised she write to them requesting copies and the financial years she needed them for. They posted them back to her.
I think you will find that is only backpackers. Individual Australian residents have till 31st October each year to lodge, if you are a business or registered with a tax agent then you can lodge later than that date through your Accountant/Agent

ops double
Another thing that might work is use etax this year and use the pre filling option as the gov has the info in there database.
>>>>Pre-filling service - e-tax
You can do it that late but it's their discretion if they choose to fine you. As said above, my Daughter lost some summaries and didn't lodge for 5 years. I rang and they said to have her lodge and they would determine if there was to be action taken.
I imagine if you owed money to them they would definately instigate proceedings against you.
If you go to the ATO site it states quite clearly that individuals must lodge by 31st October each year.
Let's do a cut/paste from the ATO - as you can see jatsvl is technically wrong as I said - you don't have 5 years to lodge. This was cut/pasted from:When to lodge your annual tax return
When is your tax return due?
You have from 1 July to 31 October each year to lodge your tax return.
In some limited circumstances you can lodge your tax return before the end of the financial year. Generally this can only be done if you are certain of your income and you are leaving the country. You must request an early assessment if you want it to be processed before the end of the financial year.
Lodging using a tax agent
If you use a registered tax agent to prepare your tax return for you, you can lodge later than 31 October. See your tax agent before 31 October to qualify for their lodgment dates.
Note
Make sure your tax agent is registered.
Having trouble getting your tax return ready on time?
If you cannot lodge your tax return by 31 October or by your tax agent's lodgment date, phone the Personal Infoline on 13 28 61 as soon as possible to find out if you can lodge at a later date.
There may be penalties for late lodgment, even if we have agreed to allow you extra time to lodge.
When do you need to pay your tax bill by?
that is interesting, to say the least, and I refer to my previous post above where nor I or my mate were penalised and I got a tax bill for both years and he recieved an over $3,000 dollar return for the four years.
I guess it is at their discretion.
Turmoil117 I wouldn't be to concerned, just lodge it with this years as I did last year.
and OP don't panic or stress to much about it you have obvious extenuating circumstanses.
