Have ordered a new sv6 sportswagon but looks like i may be waiting up to 10 weeks for delivery. went with the 6 as the missus is 26 with only her L plates still. does anyone know if she would still be able to drive an 8 if it is the only car we own?

I think the laws are if you're over 25, you can drive Turbo, V6, V8 etc cars while on P's (I think you skip Red P's if you are a learner over 25) but on your L's I think the law applies for everyone where you can only drive 4 and 6 cyl cars, though I saw a learner the other day learning in a Turbo (I'm guessing 2JZ) Supra with a fat intercooler, lowered etc so i'm not 100% sure on that

yeah L platers can drive anything, turbos, v8's ect, but i think he means once she has got her p's, inwhich case as already said im 99% sure if your over 25 on your p's (in nsw) the only restriction you have is you cant go over 90 and you only have a few points on your license but they can drive v8 ect unlike people under 25

yes you can drive anything over the age of 25 as it goes on maturity not skill
and yes learners can drive anything also as we were pulled over in my r8 for an rbt when my little brother was driving and all that was said is "be careful son" to him from the cop.

I don't get why they couldn't look around the country for the car and spec's you wanted. we got a g6e t 50th anniversary delivered to the house from Wodonga. another was my niece wanted a focus zetec in black or sea grey. we went to a local ford dealers they found the car added the options and she had it within 2 weeks. tell them you want it now and get off their bums and find it asap. plenty of S2 VE's sitting around in car lots brand new.
if you buy the v8 she cant drive the 8 when she is on p plates its a $280 fine if cought and if caught 3 times car gets impounded i wouldnt want that to happen to a great car though good luck the 6 is fine L plates or P plates.

not 100% sure about this, but in Vic if its the only car and that it is the Family Car (no access to another) you can drive the v8.
but you will probably need to check that with the RTA.
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that
yeah they have looked everywhere but they have just started a new production run. All your options come from the factory now no dealer level anymore. stupid system if you ask me. I must be the only person in the world who ordered one with leather and lsd. Now they are confused and don't know how to assemble it i think.
