when i wanted to insure my clubsport NRMA quoted me 6.5k... AAMI quoted me 1.2k guess who i went with ?

i was 20 and it was insured for 25 grand. out of 25 different insurance companies i called they were the only 2 who would touch me.

i dont know why NRMA love you =/

Best insurer, but it depends what you define as best.

    Best as in price

Best as in quality of service and claims

    Cant have both.

Best in price is more what I am after, NRMA quoted 1500 comprehensive in my name, I thought that was pretty good seeing as I have lost my licence

I was just after people thoughts on what the insurers they like and trying to get the best bang for my buck so to speak

That's pretty good, how old are you though?

Is it worth trying to beat 1500 with NRMA? Or are they good service wise?

I'll chuck in my one, Allianz. Slightly more expensive than the majority, but it greatly depends on age. If you're under 25 don't bother, because they will probably be the most expensive company out.

As far as bang for buck goes, I'd put Allianz up there as the best if your over 30. Then again, I could be biased because I sell policies in addition to my duties at work.

Member IT work for a credit union, but they chucked in the sales of insurance as an additional task. Go figure.

Allianz have onshore call centres and an easy claiming process. You've also got your choice of repairers and for standard basic figures which most wont cover or will for an additional premium:

    Legal cover: 20 million
    Substitute vehicle: Yes
Legal costs: Yes - if it goes through court, your covered
Rental car following theft: $75 per day, max 14 days
    Towing: Yes
Trailer and caravan cover: $500 ($1,000 for prestige)
Emergency repairs: $350 ($500 for prestige) - broken axle, rest of damage is drivable, get it fixed, then claim on the later
Personal effects and clothing: $500 - someone breaks into your car a nicks crap
Transportation costs: $200 ($400 prestige) - cars out of whack and you need to catch train etc
Emergency accomodation: No ($400 prestige) - middle of nowhere and no quick repair for your car, you need a place to stay
    Re-keying and re-coding: Yes
Uninsured accident: $3000 additional cover ($4000 prestige) - some dick crashes into you and dont have cover, allianz will pay out additional ontop

Tools of the trade cover: optional (additional premium) - good for tradies in bad neighbourhoods

Hard to find the above on cheapo insurers

Have any of you tried Bingle? Would be surprised how damn cheap some of their quotes are.
