    Default Gumtree users beware!

Hi guys, may be old news but it is news to me:

Gumtree Australia got hacked by some random mob called teampoison. It appears they have brought down the forum part as well as hacked well over a thousand accounts.

See here: TeaMp0isoN - Gumtree Dump - Pastebin.com and do a google search on gumtree teampoison hack.

This all happened last month according to the articles. I have been having issues with my email and gumtree acount for a while and it turns out that i am on the list of hacked by this mob.

I use Gumtree a fair bit for cheap car bits and pieces and am fairly pissed off that they did nothing to let the users know of the above issue. I tried to log onto the forum to see if anything has been said but they have shut it down completely.

Most of you won't care but it may come in handy to those having issues with either email or gumtree. Do a google search of your email address with gumtree at the end of it to see if you are on the list.

I will definitely boycott Gumtree, way to keep your users informed!!

"""On Friday 24/6, at about midday Australian Eastern time, the Gumtree.com.au site was hacked and defaced by a group known as TeaMpOisoN — with the typical dark bg, green text, and images from around the world…

On their Twitter account, TeaMpOisoN posted:

“Gumtree was founded by British bankers who sold the company to the Zionist giant EBAY who supports the illegal occupation of Palestine... end the illegal occupation of Palestine”

The site defacement includes graphic pictures of civilian Palestinian youths throwing stones at heavily armed Israeli troops and tanks.

My source is CWN (Cyberwarnews.info) which is a dedicated news weblog to the worlds cyber security operations as they happen, and which operations may range from petty actions to full take downs and exposés.

TeamPoison are a bunch of very amateur hackers (in the scope of things), who have no predetermined scope. Where as Anonymous, usually only hacks to fight for civil injustice. I believe you will find, if there has been a random hacking, and the person claims to be from Anon, they are lieing. Anonymous have morality.
