iPhone 4 glass smashed
Hey guys n gals my iPhone screen is smashed and apparently it's going to cost 400 from apple and 160 in another place, has anyone had this issue and had It fixed for a good price?? I'm in west Sydney willing to travel to parramatta to penrith to have it fixed, anyone got Good places and prices to share???

best bet those little asian shops pretty sure it will cost around $100 i have done it a few times sucks

Yeah I've seen a few stalls around in the middle of shopping centres that do them for $99, if you're willing to travel to Penrith, you could try the Penrith Plaza (I haven't been there since I was like 10 though so it might be different) but they might have a few shops there that can change them over.

its why i use a 5 year old v3 razor.... those i phones have brittle bone syndrome...

I've dropped my iPhone 3GS so many times at work etc, it's case is full of chips and dents etc, and the screen remains unsmashed haha, and my mates have been using theirs and dropped it on carpet and it's cracked so mine must have the epic_firmware_V1337

Same deal with my last iPhone 3GS I dropped it it has been hit with tools but it still never smashed, get the iPhone 4 n I drop it on concrete from not even 10 cm high n it smashes!

I just replaced the screen on a smashed ipod touch I found... $13 including postage.
I didnt realize the LCD screen was ####ed aswell.. thats another $13 odd. eBay it.

I guess the iPhone 4 glass isn't as strong as the hard plastic iPhone 3gs ones. I don't know why they all don't use gorilla glass, or does it?

They are easy to replace, i replace them daily.
One thing to remember if buying a replacement front, is the digitiser and LCD are one complete set, they are stuck together unlike the older iPhone.

Depending on the version of iphone 4 you have you need a special 5 star screw driver, its not torx. That kit from what i see comes with the special tool.
Heaps of how tos on youtube on how to replace them take ya time on replacing it, will be fine.
Apple claim the glass is stronger then plastic in most cases, but no matter glass will still smash in some cases, where plastic will just crack with less force directly applied.

Smart phones need turtle shells front and back. I have a nice leather case the phones slips into, and it stays nice and safe.
