Hey All
Picking up a new 50" Pano Plasma tonite.
Just wondering if anyone has put TV in commo to take home.
I think it may fit (once taken out of box) but wanted to see if anyone has recently put a tv on back seat.
If u have n it didnt fit, can u let me know what size it was so i can judge if it worth gettin a ute in b4 i pick it up.
Random Q ino, Thanks for input in advance
from pure experience, in the box they usually dont fit, i say get a wagon/trailer or try and get it in through the front door haha
i know they dont fit in volvos and XE falcons lol
My 42" squeezed into my VR rear seat.... JUST fit though.
Based upon my experience above, i would say no, not inbox.

42" fit in the back seat of VY/VZ in the box, so I don't think a 50" will. Just remember, if it's a plasma, do not lay it down flat. LCD/LED are okay though.
ive fit a 47" in box into back of VY, just remove the bottom part of the seat
good idea on removing bottom part of seat.. Ive fit a 42" plasma into a K11 march lol

VS V8 Manual ... Reppn it for NZ
Use a ute![]()
VZ UTE
im with taking the bottom part off the seat out, but i still dont know if it would fit.
i brought a 55" home in a VS. Removed it from box, sat it upside down on the seat, screen facing forward, and seatbelted it in. Had to bring it into the footwells first to get through the door, then lifted onto seat once inside. No probs.
me and my room mate fit a 50" into my VT, took out the front passenger seat and the bottom part of the seat behind it and the back seat part, and he sat in the back and held it lol.
Starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly
i fit my 47" tv into the back of my gf's pulsar out of the box. i thought i was god.
I'd seriously think about asking a friend with a ute to help you pick it up.

Thanks for all ur comments,
Im hoping i wont have to take out the bottom seat as got a sub box on there that i would like to not remove
Ino we got a 47" Vivo LCD in the back of my bro's VS stato, so being only 3" difference in screen size and this pano has a smaller edge than the vivo
Vivo fit in box, but only just.
Ute is easy sorced but would rather not call ppl in to help, rather get it done on my own.
I recon it may just fit, standing up right out of the box
Only gotta travel about 1km if that, so i could just walk it home on a trolley too, but would rather not
hey mate.
where i work i spend all day putting tv's into cars.
From my experience 50" wont fit, 46" boxes seem to be the max in a commodore back seat.
Panasonic boxes are slightly smaller than some of the others so you can give it a go but expect to take it out and rest it on the seat.
good luck.
Oh and good choice in plasmas![]()
had to lay my new 50" LG plasma in its box flat in the wagon with back seat folded, if you lay it down for transport screen up, and let it stand upright for 30+ mins before switching on and go really slow on the way home haha.
dont be lazy... get a skateboard a walk it home =P
or make a makeshift cart. would take next to no time at all
or do what ive seen at work before. a crane truck but that may be overkill.
no point trying to cram it into a car for only 1km to be honest
tie a rope to the box and drag it behind the car.... for instructions on how, watch fast and furious 5...
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
42" in the box fit in the back of my VP. It may JUST fit but dont risk it. mine had to sit on a slight angle though. Getting it through the door hole is the tricky bit haha.
Roofracks FTW
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast
50" TV wouldn't fit in the back of my WH Statesman while still in the box, so I doubt it will fit in a VP. I ended up going back home and getting a trailer.
You can lay plasmas down completely flat as long as your not moving it. Its the thin piece of glass that can flex when transported that causes the issues
We actually had a pallet of 50's come in that were all sitting on top of each other flat. from the factory
Took one out, worked fine and sold the rest with no problems
I've seen a AU struggle to fit a 42". they had to remove the back seat. We recently fit a 42" into a FG, just!. But i had no issues with a 40" in the back of a VT. and the VP is as wide but taller in the roof over the VT.
If i missed someone saying this sorry only read the OP post. Don't forget you can't lay it down in anyway. the plasma tv's must stay upright all the time. if it's an lcd no issues.
