Rowan Atkinson was in hospital today after crashing his McLaren F1 supercar on a road in east England.

He lost control of the vehicle before smashing into a tree and then a lampost, the Daily Mirror reported.

The car then burst into flames, with Atkinson managing to pull himself free from the wreckage.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident near the village of Haddon, Cambridgeshire at 7.30pm, the Evening Star reported

Just read up on the accident then, and i agree with you.
So far no details have been released indicating that the accident was a result of Rowan driving illegally/dangerously.

I only watched the top gear episode he was in recently two weeks ago. On that he explained how much he loves his mclaren, I'll rephrase that for you Rowan, "you loved that car".

probably the only person who i feel sorry for after theyve crashed their mclaren... he obviously bought it cause he loved how it drove not cause it showed how much money he had

im given to understand the last time he crashed it the damage was bad enough that it had to go back to the factory for major structural repairs.... guess this time he killed it, what a tool

Knowing that Rowan is OK, let's hope the car is repairable. We can't afford to lose any of those F1's - they are very special pieces of machinery.

The crash damage doesn't look too bad but the fire doesn't sound so good.

uuummmmm.... maybe he should be doing this type of stuff on a private track like every other self respecting millionaire... this would be a hole other discussion if he wiped out a pram or car load of kids..... it would scare the pants off me too, but on a closed track
