Radio Show Breaks Guiness World Record
By building a catapult that launched a car 76mthe previous record was like 50-something..
was put together by businesses and various experts (engineers etc) who called and volunteered their time and materials
was done (looks at the date).....yesterday afternoon :P

the world record was ~51.9 meteric ton meters and they managed to throw a 700kg car just less than 80m which boils down to ~57.? m
that is what ght guiness book of world reckords said

when listening to it on the radio just some of the facts behind the thing was impressive.
30tonnes of steel went into making this thing.. and it had like 14tonnes of ballast to throw the car =P
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that

they did say it was a trebuchet at some stage. but how many ppl know what that is (i didnt until they said it)? catapult just simplifies things
