    Default Credit card fraud

Just a heads up - READ YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS! According to mine, I was entertaining a hooker in Luxembourg (it's wedged between Brussels, France and Germany to save anyone having to google it) on the same day that i bought an ipod for the girlfriend at Castle Hill in Sydney. The bank DID NOT pick up on this at all. All sorted now with no issue and the card has been cancelled and waiting on a replacement.

I mean seriously??? Like I'd buy her an ipod!!!

Just kidding babe, if you read this!

fortunately for most of us people arnt doing crime in person as much any more, theyre doing it electronically. still sucks though, but id rather had my credit card held up than a 357 mag in my face.... i can see my credit card history online, i dont wait for the statement....

I agree with hi_ryder, watch your credit card online, don't wait for the statement...I check mine every day, that way if there are any transactions on the card that I didn't make I can call the bank immediately and have it sorted out.

Yep, all was refunded fine - clearly it was impossible for me to buy an ipod at the same time.

Now THAT you gotta laugh at. He has the smarts to gain access to your credit card.. but is so stupid he pays his own rego with it? I dont understand how humanity managed to rise above the swamp sometimes lol...

Just from the banks perspective, it's not feasible to monitor everyone's accounts. You should really be checking your account daily in this day and age.

    good one snips =P

but this is why id rather go into a bank. pull out some cash and only pay in cash
with all this technology im happier to see peoples faces when i give them a 20 and 50cents for something worth like $3.05
cracks me up a fair bit of the time. also means i can check they have given me the right change

also means i can budget easier saying i earnt x amount this week. im trying to save for y. that means if i take out z per week i can pay what i need, have a little bit left over for fun and know the rest is being put away for that rainy day
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that

Don't know what the go is with credit cards because I uve never owned one but debit cards take 3 days to clear, I now have a Seperate debit card for online transactions to which i put the amount I want into the account then buy what I need. I check my bank daily along with emails, although I must say with the crims swaping out atm's at shops to steal your numbers then may god have mercy on us all.

3 days for debit cards? Whichever bank you're with, I'll avoid them lol. Never more than one business day for me, and even then that's just the details. The money is gone instantly. Buy thing, 2min later check netbank, money is gone. Just doesn't have the transaction details until end of business that day.

=\ it just says "payment pending" for a couple of days.

I had this happen to me, I purchased a computer in NewYork and diamonds in Germany all within 1 hour. Now any slightly unusual purchase and I have the credit union calling me. ( which I was quite surprised and happy with ) I had my money refunded also.
