Cars are a couple tons worth of metal missile. You might have learnt how to spin the wheels, you might have learnt how to drift your car around a favourite bend. When you get halfway round that bend in the middle of the drift, and theres a new pothole in the middle of it, you will die... or kill someone. Simply because no matter how much pride you have in your skill as a novice driver, there is no substitute for experience.
The kid who was driving now has to remember for the rest of his life that he killed someone with his own stupidity. He'll have plenty of time in jail too, so he will be able to think harder. Even so, he is probably trying to convince everyone it wasnt his fault, the slide was perfectly under control until he hit the kerb by accident..
P plates and the limitations placed on them are for a reason. You are still learning. Shits me to tears how many threads I see in which P platers are looking for ways of hiding the various ways they are breaking the law. I hope its not one of my family you kill..
This is a perfect example of why P platers should be only eligable to drive 4 cylinder cars until they are off their opens. It shits me to tears when kids learn in a beat up old corrola, then are allowed to jump into a supercharged V8 or whatever, then think they're top shit, and end up crashing and driving. I'm not saying all P platers suck, but it's always the ones who think they're awesome for owning a V8 while on their P's. Condolences to her family and friends

Already with the stereotypical plater crap.
I'm not going to bother. (full license for the past 6 years now, so don't assume)
what a sad and tragic story, I would want to murder the kid responsible for killing my loved one.
This house is a f*cking prison! On Planet Bullsh*t! In the galaxy of This Sucks Camel D*cks!
Generalise much?
Each entitled to their own opinion, but I rarely see this "bulletproof" attitude from the kids on the road. Most P-platers I see around drive like grandma's because they're shit scared of losing points off their license. I general I see a lot less risk taking and a lot more patience, often waiting for massive gaps that you could drive a jumbo jet though before pulling out in traffic. In general, I think the kids getting the license now are a lot safe and more switched on than in the years gone by, which probably has something to do with how much harder it is to get a license than it was when I was 18. I liked you story tho.
ok ok can we talk p platers here!
Thanks for your comments guys, remember this driver was actually suspended from driving and still got behind the wheel, i see this alot in the news, ppl getting caught when they have been suspended for years or multiple times, they just dont care but there is a good reason why they are suspended in the first place!
sorry to hear about your loss... its such a shame.
if we had proper driver training and harsher penalties for doing the wrong thing maybe people would respect a licence.
at the moment i could open the next box of weetbix and find my licence in there at the going rate
lets just stop with the p plater hammering aswell.. as usual it will turn a thread with meaning to a worthless opinion fight
I was going to say "Lets lay bets on how long it takes for this thread to turn into a sh!t fight" But looks like that has already happened hahahahhahaha. Tragic lose, sorry to sound harsh but nothing a thread is going to do is going to change the minds of some people out there that can't see this or bother even reading it.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
every age demographic has bad drivers, its impossible to single out one particular group for being worse or more dangerous than others. I have seen F***wits in all age groups on the road, cutting people off, speeding, tailgating, not looking before pulling out. I could go on and on like this lol. Also same can be said about nationalities they all have an equal amount of bad drivers from true blue ute drivers to fully hektic dozing skyline drivers and everything in between.
Sorry for your loss.
senseless..... condolences and may she rest in peace.
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
So sad, what a waste of life. I must of missed this crash by about 15-20 min, I drive through Green rd every morning on the way to work.
Not everyone cant drive my first 3 cars were V8s, im still here and none of which I crashed. It all comes back the attitudes you are taught and how you are taught to drive.
I did some stupid things like any other P plater but they are done on skidpans, and other controlled environments

As what Gen3Ratd said (WTF DIFFERENT NAME?)
It doesn't matter if you have 500 hours on your L's, you don't learn until you're on your P's.
It doesn't matter if you drive 4 years of on your P's in a bog stock 4 cylinder - you have no experience in a v8, you get one, you get adrenaline rushes and you're definitely not used to the power = Same situation.
I learnt in a V8, Well i started in a 4 cylinder excel then drove my dads SSV 6L. Big difference.
I can tell you now, people who loves cars like myself who are driving v6's, when we finish our p's which "apparently" makes us SOOO much more responsible, soon as hit v8's you got to learn to control it all again, and obviously would give the boot down.
