Man hit by car after fleeing his own car crash

A MAN died when he was hit by a vehicle after running from the scene of his car crash in Seaford on the Mornington Peninsula tonight.
Police believe the man’s car hit a barrier that separates the Frankston Freeway from Eastlink at about 7.55pm.
It then spun and ended up on the west side of Eastlink.
Witnesses told police the driver ran from his car, jumped the barrier and attempted to cross the Frankston Freeway.
The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was then hit by a Mazda travelling north on the freeway. He died at the scene.
The female driver of the Mazda is assisting police with their inquiries.
The man’s death brings the road toll to 190, three more than at the same time last year.
