Letting someone drive my car..or not ??

Hmm have been single for a little while now. Im considering getting back onto the dating scene ( yuck lol )
Theres 1 problem..if I start dating a bloke..is it wrong to say I dont want him to drive my car at all lol ???

I mean after just losing a car recently through no fault of my own...and just had brand spanking new wheels put on.... would they be offended ?



Ok didnt realise I had started this thread with being single...but it was because I guy I went on a date with a couple years back..I let him drive and he hit the front of my car when parking it. So now Im wary and dont know how to say no in a nice way. Just wanted to clear that up. I like to link threads with personal experiences..hence the single mention. Hope I cleared that up ... and the guy was a cop..shouldnt they know how to drive better lol

I think it's fair enough.
I let my girlfriend drive my daily Ford Courier, but she doesn't even ask to drive the Commodore, because she's too worried about if she got a scratch on it lol

if your 'would be' partner gets offended, just tell him that it's nothing personal, your insurance only covers you as a driver

My sister refuses to let her husband drive her car. Not that he is a bad driver, she just doesn't like anyone driving her car - funny little thing she is.

As for me, I wouldn't let a random stranger drive my car, which I assume is what the OP is referring too. If you had dated him for a while and felt comfortable that he would respect your car then why not?

Who cares its your car, your hard earned cash, let them earn the right to drive it. Only let them if you feel they are responsible enough to hand it back as it was given.

I have had chicks say to me its me or the car, bad move for them I still have the car I told me now wife dont ask and you wont be offended I built my car from the ground up, it my sweat & blood, so Im going to be the ONLY one to drive it

I dont like it when people adjust the seats, change the channel and 'forget' to turn down the stereo. Leave rubbish in the car etc. so i never let anyone drive my cars. with my old m3 a friend got behind the wheel just to get some groceries done and when i asked her where she got the scratches, fein innocence...

I dont let anyone drive my car's, nothing against peoples driving abilities I just get the shits when people adjust my seat.
I let my missus drive my ute once, she adjusted the seat, then swore black and blue she didnt, Im 6' 4" and the seat was right ####ing forward, also when the seat gets moved forward all the stuff jammed behind it falls and breaks. She keeps suggesting I should teach her how to 4wd in my cruiser, something about "learning" and my "pride and joy" just doesnt go together.

I drive my missus car occasionaly, and I rev it past 2000rpm and shes down my throat for "flogging it"

I let an x drive my old VZ Clubby. Biggest mistake ever! She somehow managed to hit a roo with a big dent in the door and punched a hole in the muffler (who knows how!). Never, EVER again!
