Hey mate, this is a Falcon question...
What exhaust setup would you recommend for an EL Falcon six... now it's stock, but she'll get an intake upgrade and tune,
The exhaust has a few cracks and needs replacing, don't really care about sound, after performance...
would an extractor, hiflow cat and a 2.5inch system with straight thru flow mufflers be any good?
cheers mate...
PM him mate.....you will probably get a response quicker
could just try a ford forum....
could just try a exhaust shop who do exhausts all day every day..
Could just give it away and get a Commodore.
I drive a VS commy..
the falcon is my brother's,
the ford forum's is deserted
the exhaust shop recommend's a 2.5 inch... but on a stock v6 ecotec 2.5inch drones and loses response
google: boosted falcon forums
very much alive, an is dedicated to the E series.
and just to be helpful
pacemaker extractor + standard cat + single 2 half inch + offset middle muffler + rezi or hot dog on the end
wont drone and wont be loud either. and performance? none. you want it throw a snail on it.
i had pacemaker extractors PH4499, high flow 2.5" venom steel cat and a lukey 2.5" system. sounded great with no loss of response. was a bit loud but i only had 1 muffler so a rear resonator would have helped that
I slapped a 2.5 inch redback catback on my ecotec VS with only a mace CAI and extractors on, and she lost a bit of throttle response, and seem to lose a bit down low.. later on i added the mace plenum spacer, 4inch induction piping and the mace memcal and then the exhaust really came into it's own.. the note changed.. was much deeper, and the throttle response and acceleration was great...
I'm worried that if i go for a 2.5 inch exhaust, with extractors, cat and SS inductions CAI the falcon will lose a bit down low
i mentioned the ecotec because it introduced me to the principle of too big an exhaust for a stock engine.. and i wish to avoid repeating the mistake
yea was looking at 4499s
4499's are the go. the standard exhaust is so rubbish that a 2.5" will be a huge improvement and is the ideal size for that engine. your only problem may be drone and volume which can be partially fixed with a rear resonator
sweet.... are 4480s better? they're pricier and are also tri-Ys
cant speak from personal experience but they do have smaller secondaries and are paired correctly. if you have the cash id say go for it.
