Just wondering if anyone on here collects hot wheels cars.
I have a little collection of cars going atm. I only collect the real cars though without all the detailed paint.
So if you do collect post a pick of your favourite and give us a look. Can be matchbox.

Yea the GFs gad has some from the early 70s.
Keen to know if anyone else has a veyron. heard they are pretty rare

I've seen a few of the Veyrons in shops, but I think they're ugly as all #### so I don't have one

I've got a few of the 70's yank muscle cars they do. Good value for the $2 something they cost.

The last one i want out of the 2010 set is the ferrari fxx. Saw it in a coles catalogue but its not on the hot wheels site. LOL

I collected hot wheels from '99 to early 2011 I used to collect all poster editions and some variations but in the last few years of collecting I was way more selective, mostly just collecting real cars.
the veyron is a pretty common car, infact most series cars are pretty common, however some variations are quite rare e.g. different window and interior colour, wheels and base colours.
limited editions are limited to about 2,000,000 so yeah LIMITED? this is a big money spinner for mattel.
to be sucessful you need to look at the cars like a child would, if it is cool it maybe worth something.
one of the rarest cars is the VW COMBI DRAG BUS, it is the heaviest of all hot wheels and some variations fetch many hundreds of $$. most have really good graphics and paint jobs.
keep your out for treasure hunts series and more so the super treasure hunts because of thier rubber tyres and metallic paint.
I don't have a personal favourite but I do like the VN/P from the 90's which is now called POLICE CAR and the VT SS was pretty good to.
Matchbox now have a VE SS UTE out in green and a purple one.

I used to work at target in the toys and i used to open all the boxes looking for treasure hunts i never liked the look of them so i just left them.
I have a VT SS that was in really bad shape. Now its sitting there bare metal with no spoiler. Also have a VS matchbox car that i was going to paint the same
colour as my real VS. Have only seen one VE SS ute it was a special one with HSV all down the side, it was on ebay.

Ok cool thanks for the tip. Are you VS's boxed, wouldnt mind a boxed one. My VS is a yellow sort of orange. The GF's brother has the white one and wont give it
to me. It is boxed and the box is in mint condition.

nearly all of my collection is boxed and stored, I was going to have a look later for that FXX you mentioned and now I will look for the VS also and let you know.

nice collection jats I have all those except #25 and the olympic one also I have a freemantle dockers one instead of port hehe. got the yellow vt the silver vt and a few others, gotta dig em out one day and get some pics.

if that was a brand new one in the shops? that would have been the CHEVY V8 VEGA CUSTOM which looks alot like the torry hatch on the side but the front is very different.

thanks ucwepn, I have a crows one to BUT it is a FORD. also the ones above are obviously matchbox so I should dig around and show you guys some of the hot wheels commodores that I have to but it will take some time.

redline cars from the '70's (they have a redline on each tyre) at sale in poor condition they start at about $40 and go through to $$$$? for a mint popular model. they started re-releasing them a few years ago but they still aren't worth what the old ones are.
vw drag buses can fetch good dollars but are hard to find unless you pay good dollars for them, there was one of the earlier release Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile's that is worth a fair bit to.
There are heaps of limited edition from the past(E.G. convention cars, and promo models) that sell for alot, most modern limited editions are a joke.
