Can someone explain to me why this is racist or offensive? Since when is dressing up as people you admire racist? Seriously, this country is now so PC that it is a bloody joke.

Qantas are in a bit of a damnd if they do/damnd if they don't situation here. Australians know the spirit which that was intended but NA and UK certainly would be deeply offended. Qantas are a global company as is the internet thus they need to err on the side of caution.

For once I would like to see someone like Qantas reply "we stand by the picture as most people find it amusing, the person portrayed is not offended and this Company is not going to bow down to a sensitive minority - go fly with another airline."

For the record, I just cancelled flights to fiji and 2 flights to queensland with qantas and rebooked with other carriers. I am willing to put my money where my mouth on issues like this. Might only be $3500 in total, but it is 3500 less qantas have.

Over reaction? Not at all. I am sick to death of people having to apologise for doing nothing wrong. Qantas apologising over these two guys to me is an outright joke and we are being held hostage by PC do gooders for doing nothing wrong. It is a case of the minority controlling the majority.

I'm offended. I find it very racist indeed. To say people shouldn't dress up as their idol because they have black skin and dressing up with face pain may offend other black people and do gooders is offensive to me. If someone wanted to portray me but some do gooder old them no thats wrong you can't pretend to be white I would be pissed. They need to get the hell over themselves. You don't see white people carrying on like this, black people mock white people all the damn time, look at that movie white chicks if that had been some white guys painting themselves up black and taking the piss out of black women there is no way it would be playing at the movies, they would have a riot. I work with a not so white guy who proudly tells all "I hate them black ####'s". Brings conversation to a standstill as people try to compute why a black guy would say that.
