P plate laws

hey all,
what is the go with p plate laws in QLD, it is a joke

been looking for a commodore V6 and most im keen on are supercharged.
how is it that it is under 200kw(171kw) yet i still cant drive it cause of it being "supercharged"
saying all of this, on my L's i can drive any car i want being V8, turbo'd or supercharged.
