Anyone use one? After a recent incident where some P-Plate tool from Frankson threw a glass bottle out his window which struck my car, I'm seriously considering purchasing one of these....

Yup I've got one of these DOD-Dream Of Digit-tech >PRODUCTS, some of the shit I've seen and recorded is unbelievable.
Best thing I've ever bought.
Cool! Just ordered from here: Spy City Vehicle Cameras - DOD GS-600 GPS Accident Car Camera DVR Drive Vehicle Recorder
A good price and the ultimate in fighting bad speeding tickets and for crash evidence. It's worth it I reckon!
My brother bought this thing off eBay that sticks to his window, and he then clips his Samsung Galaxy into it, and pushes record video on his phone and bam, instant point-of-view filming! Since the Galaxy has HD video, it comes out crystal clear (unless he has bird poop on his window lol) but as far as actual data loggers, I wouldn't have a clue, seems you got come good info already on here :P

Blackvue DR400G HD Blackvue DR400G HD - A$399.00 - HD Black Box Recorder with GPS - A$399.00
As seen on ACA...
Going to swing past Race Recall this afternoon and check it out.
LOL!!! I was like "WTF?" and then remembered. Talk about having a good memory - I'd almost forgotten about that brainless bogan! Hahaha... Haven't had an encounter anything like that one since then (thankfully).
I have to say, I'm VERY impressed with the BlackVue DR400G so far. SO simple to setup and use and manage the video. I have mine set to just record a continuous 1080p loop at 30fps with sound in 3min incremental files (that can replay seamlessly). After approx. 10 hours it starts to over write the oldest files first. One 3min file exports to be about a 160Mb MP4 file. Can choose to export with or without sound so I don't bother disabling it, but you can if you don't want to record any sound at all.
Here's a 3min grab of the commute to work this morning.

Stupid question, but does it only export to MP4?
I guess it would. Why did I even ask haha.
Edit: Holy shit that's good video!! Is the speed accurately recorded? [Next to the time, date etc].
Looks like something I wouldn't mind investing in when I get my motorbike license, unless it's too large for a helmet / front of a motorbike

Yeah but the you can run it through any number of apps in order to format/compress it to whatever you want. I uploaded the full HD mp4 to Vimeo so people can see the best quality.
Yup! It's spot on when compared to my TomTom and slightly lower than the speedo indicates. Happy with that.
This mounts to the inside of the windscreen in much the same way an eTag does. But there are helmet mounted units out there too. I got mine from Race Recall in Dingly Village, Melbourne.
Hehe... That's why I picked that section. It had some sort of "fastback" on it. Reminded me of the Dakar utes... Looked good and bad, as in I like it and don't like it at the same time.
Yeah - it's a "just in case" thing. But there are plenty of examples of people having all the evidence they need when other people are morons on the road and collisions occur. I'm going to start keeping some of the doozies I'll no doubt collect over time and mash them all together to upload a "Melbourne's Embarrassing Drivers" video.![]()
Hey rufys, we use the blackvue in all of our buses and coaches. They have paid for them selves over and over again in the amount of insurance excesses we haven't had to pay and resulted in 3 drivers being terminated with video evidence. Only drawback is the Victorian court system won't accept GPS data against speeding fines.
