How epic was that drum solo!!!
Dennis Chambers is his name I believe..
It was damn awesome!!!
Lemme know what you think...
I thought it was sick.. ahahaha
Ive been reading around and I think he is doing drum solo's for these 2 weeks..
I missed it, is he better than the above?
This the bloke?
Yep, I am bored!
is that it?
arguably the best drummer in the world, neil peart.
I've got a mate who will pretty much argue to the death that Mike Mangini, new drummer for Dream Theater, is the best in the world.
well according to rolling stone neil peart is the best drummer in the world. and i dont disagree with that
I saw Dennis Chambers in 2003, 2007 and 2011 when he played with Santana. The 2003 solo he played was extremely awesome.
Another awesome drummer is Terreon Gully, more jazz though.
[QUOTE=GEN3RATD;1985588]is that it?

agreed lol love his drum solo in YYZ
"Best" comes down to a matter of opinion really. It's like the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ list. Just because Armin van Buuren is voted number 1 doesn't mean he is the best.
Anyway, Mike Mangini has quite a few world records under his belt..
Bare Hands (no sticks) in 60 seconds, which he earned by executing 1,138 single stroke notes in 2002, until Glen Caruba broke it with 1,140 notes in 2006.
Matched Grip single strokes in 60 seconds, executing 1,247 notes at the 2005 Summer NAMM in Indianapolis, IN. Mike already was the 1st person in history to break 1,200 notes when he played 1,203 single notes at the 2005 Winter NAMM Session.
Traditional Grip which he earned by executing 1,126 single strokes in 60 seconds in 2003, stood for five years before falling to Matt Smith (1,132) in 2008.
Single Stroke Foot record playing 13,222 hits in 15 minutes and 4,555 hits in five minutes, records that stood for two years before falling to Mike "Machine" Mallais (13,309/4,595) in 2007.
But, like I said... it's opinion so lets leave it at that![]()
yes it is a matter of opinion, just most reputable magazines/countdowns/whatever will have neil peart at the top, closely followed by jon bonham and ginger baker id presume.
obviously we all have our favourites, but im yet to see a neil peart solo that hasnt blown my mind, the skills he has are out of this world.
im prob gonna get flamed for saying this, but linkin park is my fave band, has been since i was in high school (and no i wasnt emo, i didnt have a stash of razor blades etc) and i was watching live clips of them when i came across this vid, unexpected from a band like LP (which probably why i like it)
to save ppl who hate them from watching the whole vid, start from 2:09thats where the lead in to the solo is, i think its pretty cool
(doesnt go for that long, but i like it) thats what she said?
huh? how is linkin park emo? unless their new shit is? i dont know, i dont listen to it, but hybrid theory FTMFW!!! and the 2 follow up albums are fairly good
completely off topic, but LP on mtv back in its hay day, ahhh good times...............
