Good shit Dave, sorry buddy I thought I told you about it the other night

I'm looking into getting into Mesomourph soon, just started a new workout routine, this is the first week of it. Currently 84.5kg - will see how I go, still wanting to strip more of the gut off, and put on more upper body bulk. So much more focus on BIG weight, more compound exercises and more legs.

Good to see quite a few of you guys training. For the guys that aren't and might be suffering in any way shape or form, either from lack of motivation, weight etc...
Really encourage you guys to get a buddy (REALLY HELPS TO WORKOUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE) and get a solid 3+day a week gym routine....may sound cliche' but you feel healthier (even more so if you eat better) and you start to have a fresher feel towards life.

Me and Jecs have been slinging gym quotes back and forth recently, so here's a couple to get you guys pumping

'Winners never quit, and quitters never win!'

'Until you start, you can't succeed, after that just keep pushing'

'When you think you're at the end, push harder!'

when i first started gym i hated it. all the guys were buffed, lifting heavy weights. was very intimidating.

but i stuck with it and noticed no one cared that i couldnt lift big weights. but they were always there to spot me or give me pointers if i needed it. so ye dont be scared to get out there cause you're over weight or arnt strong. you'll push through like i have. i hope to be benchin 100kgs by the next couple of months.

fk ye quotes time. at my old gym this was on the wall

'everyday you dont train, your enemy is. when you fight him, he will win'

that really got stuck in my head

Legs being incorperated into your workouts WILL encourage muscle growth becasue of an increase in blood flow around the body i.e. quicker repair time.

Best idea i ever had was bring a mate to gym. It always gives you that fire when you push eachother to go bigger.

hahah You guys sound like you are out of movies. At our gym, we keep it real.

There is probably 10 of us that are real close at our gym and we just have a free for all with eachother.

*look at weight on machine/stack* 'thats a cute weight princess'

*someone pulls weight off rack and puts it on the ground* 'nice set bro'

*see someone get 12 on a weight* 'if i see you get 12 unassisted reps again, im cancelling your memebership for you'

We are constantly trying to make eachother laugh through eachother sets.

We also play set tiggy. If your not doing a workout you can get tagged, so it keeps your working out

The first time you bench 100kg you instantly what to high five every person within your intermediate vicinity

    Biggest rush ive ever had.

i know it gives you motivation, but i just get over the cliche part of it.

I'm starting to work out again from tomorrow, & last time I had a workout spree [Lasted about a month or 2, diet of mainly chicken & veggies but I think I started it too hard and my body was all "Um wtf is this sudden change] it failed lol, so I was wondering, what's some rough starting points? Like, I know I can lift X kilos, but I don't want massive muscle, as I'm pretty short and my muscle is at a good level, I want lean results. I know the biggest thing is dieting, but as for exercise, is it more reps of light weights and heaps of cardio? I guess I still have to work on my muscles somehow to keep them tight, but yeah, any advice would help lol.

I have access to a treadmill, multi gym, cross trainer & bike, as well as various weights.

Start doing medium weight high reps. more muscle endurance. less strength/muscle gain.

Good effort man, I used to do it, for over a year, results were well worth it - now - let myself go, just deciding on a time to start it up again...

Got an SMS thursday night from a PT i know at my gym. He asked did i want to come in early friday morning and do a workout with him. Sure thing. You got to love working with a PT they keep you honest and help fix flaws in your body movement.
250 squats, 200 push ups, 15 minutes on the punching bag high speed snapping punches high and low and a 30 second break doing push up hold (how exciting these are). then 100 situps. the old hamstrings kness and ribs hurt but the rest of the body is fine.

    What's Grape Mesomorph?

I have a protein shake in a can! If this isn't Asian, I dunno what is lol. Excuse the Paris Hilton effect, my webcam's shithouse.

Edit: OH MY GOD KILL ME NOW!!!! That, was by far, THE WORST drink I have ever consumed. It tasted like someone had mixed a bit of chocolate powder with water, and made it frothy by vomiting it back up.

I have never had that i'm over it stage, i love training. Weight is 113kg body fat down to 11%. i aim for 500grams aweek in weight increase, as anymore it would be fat. Eating between 4500-5000calories a day. Make my own protien shake in the morning, which consists of,

    500ml zymil lactose free milk,
    2 scoops protien,
    50grams oats,
    1 small banana,
50grams berries, blendid up and works out to 800cal and 80 grams carbs. have liquid breakfast as body absorbs it faster.

They taste better, but you lose some of the advantage. i.e. dilution plus if your putting in heaps of milk it just becomes useless to a point

You sir. are doing it right.

    I ended up dumbell benching

    10 x 37.5kg dumbells.
    8 x 40kg dumbells.
    8 x 42.5kg dumbells.

    Then incline bench machine:
    12 x 35kg each arm
    10 x 40kg each arm
    7 x 50 kg each arm

    Supersetted with peck deck:
    3 sets of 40kg 10reps

    followed by Incline flys

    12 x 12.5kg each arm
    12 x 17.5kg each arm
    8 x 20kg each arm

Each time followed by close grip pushups on a bench.

Lastly chest cable flys supersetted with incline chest raises.

    3 sets 8 reps 45kg
    3 sets 10 reps 25kg

    Triceps was:

Rope pull downs supersetted with single arm reverse pulldowns

v bar pull downs with dip machine

reverse grip bar pull downs with over head close grip cable pulls.

MOst epic sesh of chest/tris i have done!
