Default AVOID XXXXX LPG auto Bayswater.

Just a warning for anyone wanting to get there LPG system tuned with XXXXXX LPG auto in bayswater.

I took my car there to get the system tuned, after $130 i find out that they wernt able to connect with my car computer and they didn't do the tune.

I know have to fork out more to get someone to tune the car at another place that is trustworthy and will do the job requested.

    Very disappointed at their service.

Avoid slandering a business online, how about you explain what the invoice says exactly what you were charged for?

Mate I would be wary of complaining about companies on a public forum. I have dealt with this company on numerous occaisions and their service is pretty top notch. There are many different gas systems, so often when a random car that they did not set up the gas system on, they need to get new parts or systems for to be able to 'connect with'.

If they told you your tune was done and you are unsatisfied with it, take it back to them, say I paid the money for a job to be done, it hasn't been done to my satisfaction, and they will fix it.

Long story short, I booked for my LPG system for a "tune" not a "service".
Car goes in for the tune comes back out 15 mins later.
    Was told tune was done.
Verbally Confirm that a tune has been carried out, along with "you should upgrade ur system beacaue it isn't the best" why when it's running?
    Any way,
    Payed the bill.
Drive out, car still idles like a pig.
    Call them back
    Made another booking,
arrive there n ask heyy are u sure car was tuned?
No it wasn't cause we couldn't establish a connection between ur car and the the laptop.
WTF, then what did I just pay for.
For u to have a look at my engine bay???

    1. Did you ask for a refund?
    2. What did the invoice/receipt say?
    3. Did you pay for it via credit card?

Yea I asked for a refund but still haven't reached an answer.
Invoice says checked the regulator checked for leaks, checked ignition system.

So they did do work! You're OP wasn't entirely accurate. While they didn't do a tune, they certainly did work for you. And last I checked, labour wasn't free!

$130 for 15mins, you'd think their taking the piss with $520 an hour labour.

By the word check they "looked at" not replaced. There is a difference.
So no spanners and sockets were involved.

I walked in requesting a tune not a look over my engine bay.
I never asked for them to do checks.

You get what I mean man.

In summery this is like going up to a mechanic and asking for an oil and oil filter change.
He walks out and says it's all done.
Then u find out that none were changed.

Btw not having a go at anyone

Just wanting help on this issue and originally wanted to warn others.

This is why I asked what the invoice said. Quit your bitching, diagnostic work isn't free. Checking for leaks etc IS mechanical work. And if you actually had your stop watch out and timed it to 15 minutes I'll eat my shoe. Most mechanics charge over $120/hr these days, LPG specialists that require extra licensing sometimes more. I'm not sayin their rates are fair but your first post was misleading and slanderous. Sounds like you did get a little toched but if you didn't red the invoice before paying then you are the idiot. Take it somewhere else if you are not happy and let this be a lesson to always read invoices. My mechanic is a very good mate who I went to school with, I still always check the invoice as mistakes can be made easily.

Gotta agree with the checking of invoices, though I see where you are coming from. If I took my car in for, say, a dyno tune, and they charged me $1,000 and on the invoice it said that they only changed my tyres or something, I'd be pretty pissed off too and complain.

If it was me in your shoes, I'd go back, demand to talk to the highest person [ie.e manager etc], demand a refund, or a free tune, or else take it further.

Demanding won't do shit, he was invoiced for the diagnostic work and he has no evidence otherwise. Pissing off the people that work on your shit is not advised. If you want to go back there then nicely ask for them to reimburse some of the cost and fix the problem but they already stated they couldn't so it's probably a waste of time.

Nearly every mechanic these days will charge you just for them to look at stuff, even if it's just a visual inspection. It's still taking up their time and we all know time is money.

My mechanic will charge $80 to give his opinion on what need doing. If you go ahead with the repair(s) the $80 comes off the bill. He said he got fed up of people bringing in their car to ask what was wrong, him telling them and them not booking the car in, knowing full well he had just diagnosed for free and done himself out of a potential repair.

Are you for real? OP has every right to be annoyed - he asked for a specific thing, was told it was done and paid accordingly. They hustled him man, plain and simple. If he asked for an inspection then that would make sense but he took a man at face value.

OP - go and ask for your money back man, if they refuse lesson learned.

if you think you got ripped off for $130 you should see what i got from a panel shop for 3K it's going to cost him twice that

on a lighter note i need to get my LPG serviced (only cos of the warranty service thing it runs perfectly), has anyone tried the mobile GAS GURUS?

LPG service only costs $80 and nothing is done unless you have a problem
