Hi I'm interested in doing an apprenticeship in the mines and since I have car repayments and house repayments Im interested in the pay that apprentices get at the mines. Any help would be appreciated
09 SSV BLACK UTE. RAMJET OTR, 3 INCH XFORCE CAT BACK,
go a diesel mechanic apprenticeship. if you can get one then you cant go wrong. they pay well and depending on the mine there should always be work on as the mine vehicles need regular servicing and repairs.
Edit: there are many more types of apprenticeships available through the mines just google it.

go plant mechanic mate, much more in depth into the hydraulics and more money in been a plantey, just finished my apprenticeship and it's been a blast!
$640-720 after tax for first year.
A friend of mine was making almost $1k as a first year. He worked four 10 hour days, then on Friday his RDO he worked that.
pfft. commercial/industrial electrical mechanic (electrician) is very good for pay.
get on the big sites and youll be loving life =P
then again any trade in the industrial sector seems to be awesome. learn lots and also bring home alot.
however do not just do a job because of the "pay" that you can make out of it.
if you do not legitimatly enjoy it. your days will take forever, you will get bored and it will just suck.
im currently in qld chasing this. Its not what you know its who you know. get on it.
The mining life can kill your family or if your single it can be rewarding.
I've been married for 12 yrs and on the mines 25 yrs
Look at rio Tinto parraburdoo but they will want you to be able to move and live there

novaskill is the one you want.
i started my apprenticship as a machinist/fitter at olympic dam (south australian desert) when i was 16 and have been here ever since. its well worth the low pay for 4 years as itll set you up for life. the only down fall is that most mining towns are isolated and expensive to live in for example $500 a week rent for a 3 bedroom house is not uncommon. but i ya cant beat the lifestyle and freedom it can give you to do all the things you want to do.. i work 5 days on then have 4 off then work 4 days on and have 5 off so im only working half the year and then i have annual leave and sick days on top of that with a 6 figure salary... hope this helps
If in doubt......FLOOR IT!!!
The same can be said for most subjects covered many times over the years, however there is a recent thread about working in the mines that the OP could have used to post in. One just has to use common sense and check the dates before posting. In this instance he is seeking information that he could read without having the need to post.
how would he ever guess its called "any1 else working FIFO" although it has mining information in it it hardly seems like it relates to it in the title.
yes i know the search engine does a search of the whole thread but its pathetic at its job 98% of the time because everybody calls things by different names.
