Default Why do ride on lawn mowers have head lights?

Just had saw a ad for the new Victa ride-on lawn mower and it has WIDE BEAM LED HEAD LAMPS, but why it's not like it's to warn people as they're pretty loud and I don't know many people that would mow there lawns at nighttime???
Anyway just thought I'd mention it no matter how irrelevant it is.

A lot of lanscapers/gardeners/farmers/etc start before the sun comes up. I know at my agricultural boarding school we were up at 5:30am every day so we needed headlights on all our machinery - including the ride ons.

i disconected mine as i thought it would maybe save the battery life, but since most of these are made in the states i would say for the visibility factor to people, so that no one gets injured, to possibly avoid litigation, or maybe the insurance requirement...im surprised there is no seat belt, but thats probably next with all of the rest of the safety bullshit they impose on us

Years ago (around 13) our local policeman confiscated our ride on for me driving it home smashed along the service road beside the train line (pub was perfectly located where you didnt have to go along any "public" roads). I was shattered...had no light, was pitch black and woke up the next day with cuts and bruises from all my falls. I am sure thats why they have head lights!!

Mowing the lawns at night, it is like flying a kite at night, you can do it but it just doesn't seem right!

If we ever thought he was going to DUI us then no one would of driven home to their farm along that service road. I don't think in the 4 years he was there that he booked one local for anything lol.

I have a few ride ons (up to a 30hp tractor with cutting decks) I added extra work lights to it so i can quite happily keep working til 10pm in the far paddocks etc. I work on a 200acre property for a bed and breakfast retreat type place, a lot of lawns to be cut!

My old next door neighbour started mowing his lawn at 11pm on a weeknight once - with a freaking ride on with lights... Fark it was loud.

I think he got more of a fright seeing the other half come out in his jocks to tell him to stop (being 8 months pregnant and only sleeping a couple hours a night makes one cranky missus..!)

But I guess it makes sense if you live on a farm etc. Just not in suburbia.
    I'm a girl... I'm blonde... But I drive a really nice car
