Just watched this, pretty horrible and really shameful. 1 out of 18 people stopped to help the poor little girl. Unsure if she died afterwards.

Further reading as to the current problem with helping others in China leading to lawsuits, so can understand abit, but ignoring a dieing toddler is just sickening and really goes to show how western values imo are better. I doubt you'd see this in America or over here.

VIDEO: Chinese girl gets run over and ignored


Guangdong Province, China – The world is a cold place, as a poor Chinese toddler named Yueyue, found out last Thursday. The 2 year old wandered into an alley, was run over by a van and left for dead. The van slowed long enough to realize it hit someone, but then sped off and ran over Yueyue’s head again with the rear tires. The struggling toddler was writhing in a pool of her own blood; but cars, motorcycles, rickshaws and pedestrians were all just too busy or selfish to stop. Yueyue was soon run over by another truck, and needless to say, that truck took off as well.

It wasn’t until 7 minutes and 18 people passed that a woman finally moved the limp, paralyzed body out of harm’s way. Yueyue died on Sunday from brain injuries.

The surveillance video below went viral, and both hit-and-run drivers have since been arrested. That’s little comfort for Yueyue’s family who probably want the other 17+ arrested as well for wanton disregard of human life.

I haven't watched the video and very much don't want to. What a terrible situation. As sad as it is, in this case she is probably better off now. Condolences to the family.

Incredibly sad. I didn't think she got run over on the head, looked like it was her abdomen/legs? Wonder how many incidents like this happen every year in China? I remember seeing another video of an old lady struck down by truck, an old lady behind her saw it all happen and walked off but other passer byers came to her aid which was good. RIP

I don't understand how the drivers did not see the child? I know that there's jokes about asians not being able to see through tiny eyes but f-cking come on, a toddler isn't hard to miss in a VAN, which has no bonnet sticking out making it EASIER to see everything.

People are just to friggin stupid, seriously, humanity are d-ckheads. That video makes me want to punch those guys right in the face with a cinder block.

Sadly this is the way the world is heading. No one will help anyone for fear of being sued combined with apathy towards others. A lady ran her gopher off the side of a ramp a few weeks ago and was wedged on an angle between the ramp and car - 5 people looked and kept walking so it happens in Australia also.

However given this was a toddler it is unbelievable and very sad that people kept walking. Hopefully they catch the lot from the CCTV and charge them with something!

You sir, are a dick. she was 2 and no the truck actually stopped after the front tyres went over her and then decided to keep going to finish the job. it says in the details that she was brain dead and then died on the 16th of this month. (2 days ago). both the first truck and second were charged and the first said to the media "If she is dead, I may pay only about 20,000 yuan ($3,125). But if she is injured, it may cost me hundreds of thousands yuan," said the driver over the phone to the media, before he gave himself up to the police.

just another example of why these chinks should not be in our country. obviously they are careless. what if it was one of our kids?!?
