Hi guys im doing an assignment atm on online marketing
And one of my statergies was going to be using fb advertising, i contacted fb and they told me to go away because i was a student.
My question is has anyone's business used fb advertsing, how much does it cost? what does it get you?
Cheers guys

Its just like google adwords, you pay per click etc, depending on how much you bid for a click depends on how much you pay.

what kind of advertiseing are you going to use? its free to make a facebook page for your company or brand ect, but i think it might cost abit for facebook to put it on the side of peoples newsfeed and stuff
well the whole assignment is theoritical, but the idea was to use facebook and its ads down the right side of the home page to advertsie a Bar, and it would be advertied to people withing the melbourne area, aged between 18 to 30. I chose fb because of the sheers number of people that use it and as minux said and i have found out from other research you can choose how much advertising you want, if you want to be a cheap skate you may only reach like 10 people, but then if those 10 people like the page then there friends will see it and hopefully like it
oh okay then, but yeah the thing is though is if people do like the page, other people wont tend to like it unless they know where or what the bar is kind of thing or unless they've gone there, thats why having the actually ad on the side of the page i think would reach more people, that way people will actually see the page as an ad and if there from around that area would be interested in it, and yeah im pretty sure the more ad's that facebook give you on the side of the page the more it costs
There are ads on facebook?
Thank god for FF and adblock.
Not what the OP wants to hear I guess lol.
Seriously though, I am reading this is purely for statistical data for an assignment you are doing? If so I am wondering where/if you could access that data without actually listing an ad.
I've found Google AdWords to be far more effective than Facebook advertising. But you can spend as much or as little as you want.
