    Default Holden Hurricane

Thought some of you might be interested to see this - apparently Holden have just finished restoring their first ever concept car, the Hurricane. Climate control, rear vision camera, 4 wheel disc brakes...so far ahead of its time. And of course, such a beautiful body. Such a shame that they never sold it.

    Umm are you blind?

Probably a good thing they never sold it, looks like something that escaped the abortion bucket.

That car was never destined to be sold. It was a combined design exercise and an introduction of the then brand spanking new Aussie Holden V8 253. I was never a fan of the design but love the GTR-X. Still it's a irreplaceable piece of Australian motoring history and should be preserved.

not keen on the design of it at all, it's a nice colour and has got some cool technology for it's time.

totally agree on the colour and tech being good.

it looks like how prototypes are now. really out there, and strange.
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that

So is that 8 wheel disc/k brakes? lol. With regards to the rear vision camera though, it would need it with no rear window there

In all seriousness though, I personally can't appreciate the design of it in terms of aesthetics. Each to their own I guess

They have a good story on it in the current wheels mag, the 253 in it is pretty crazy with external cam drive for example. Well worth a read.

I was serious when I said I love the way it looks...I know that for today it looks pretty wrong, but at the same time - I can't help but love it.
