It's a big win for the rebels, kinda hard to tell exactly which way it will go, Rudd was right this morning when he said that they need to quickly get a handle on basic law and order to stop the country going into a tizz (paraphrasing).
Either way, one of the world's bigger ratbags is dead, there's a lot for the people of Libya to celebrate.

Pretty much. It’s a conundrum where on one hand he is condemned for cold blooded murder but I don’t feel so bad about it happening to him. I think he was responsible for so much suffering of other for so long it actually represents justice more so than what may be morally right.

Same, though I heard that he either died from his leg wounds, or was shot in the head aswell as the legs, but I lean more towards the legs and head as they probably shot him in the legs, dragged him around like they always do, then shot him in the head, though from the footage there's no clear entry wound in his head, unless it was in the side of the head, but then again blood would be pouring out when they lifted his head up so I dunno. I now believe he is dead, though, no doubt about that lol.

The femoral artery is a biggy in the leg. A cut or large enough opening in it will drain the body of blood in seconds.
the U.S. forces caught Hussein but then again they cornered Bin Lade as well. I guess Saddam wasn’t personally responsible for an attack on the U.S. Or then again they would play each case as they thought expedient. It may have served them better to have Hussein executed by his “own people” than deal with the “should have / should not have” that would have gone with them killing him in cold blood. Bin Laden it was personal.

I don't think it was personal so much as how much trouble he would have stirred up going thru a trial and then the inevitable execution.

Now the NTC has become that which it hated. Summary execution, no trials/justice. It was a stupid move not to capture him seeing as it seems he didn't die fighting but gave up, they had him alive and lynched him. It was a chance to show they are different. Now it seems we can just expect a regime change and more of the same. There is a difference between vengeance and justice. A just society does not seek vengeance but justice and justice must be seen to be done.

I can't speak for greenacc but from personal experience I have no faith in our justice system what so ever. If he were bought here he'd probably manage to sue the government for a new country.

I give you a choice between North African/Middle Eastern justice and ours and you say you have no faith in ours.. Does that mean you'd rather North African/Middle Eastern justice?
