I got done a couple of weeks ago for un-reg by 4 days, no sticker is throwing me, (still no excuse I know, dont flame me), and the cop used his iPhone app to tell me I had no rego & fine me for it. So then i had to download the app & pay for my rego before I could then drive off.
Therefore the answer is give interstate cops ipad/iphones to check SA regos![]()
Having to rent cars on numerous occasions, there are more and more supplied without stickers. The rental agency tells you they are not required. Check with Vic Roads and QLD Transport and they say they are. Check with QLD Police they say they are. We refuse to take the vehicles without rego stickers rather than have an extended conversation trying to establish if a rental is registered.
Good point with the rental car.
I don't believe the RTA are trying to save money, we pay for them when we pay our rego.
Lets see if the rego is any cheaper without the sticker.
Betya apple etc love it, now everyone needs a phone to support an app to check your rego, what a joke.
I take it back if that is the case. If so then the whole Police force is hopelessly incompetent.
Use, “paper”… I can get any information I want about almost anything on my mobile phone. Are you seriously saying it is unreasonable to expect the Police forces in Australia to be able to access simple information like car registrations? You’re probably right though. There is no revenue in it for them..
Yes. The “cost saving” exercise of eliminating stickers and posting them out actually resulted in an increase in rego costs and also eliminating the 6 month and 9 month option to cut down “administration costs”. So they are doing less and cutting down on the cost of it. I love the “administration cost” on the rego invoice. That’s what reg is. ADMISTRATION!!. They don’t do anything other than an administrative task. They don’t even give you a sticker anymore!!!!!
can anyone point me to the app?
A free 'Registration Reminder Tag' can now be printed at Registration Reminder Tag Facility (Powered by CubeCart) to help those who are used to the old sticker system...
